He's saying teams only think Everton will be a difficult game; they don't fear a hiding ahead of the game, so there's no intimidation.

For example, we fear Arsenal, as they've teared us apart on multiple occasions.

We haven't properly turned over a side in recent memory.

I know what you are saying, but fear does not have to be just a good hiding, you still get the same amount of points from a 1 nil defeat.

For example, I fear Stoke, as they come from the land of giants and the supporters have webbed feet.

I think there's a difference between genuine fear and apprehension.

You're apprehensive about going to Stoke away, but you fear Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Doesn't have to be a big club either - when Newcastle were flying last year, people feared them until they got "Pardew'd" back to reality.

Teams are always apprehensive about Everton because they know it won't be an easy three points, but they never go into a game thinking there's no chance.

You're just chatting bubbles now.

No need to resort to that mate.

I see what you're both saying. Just varying definitions.

One of you thinks fear is being afraid of a hammering before the game.

The other thinks fear is being afraid of dropping points before the game.

It's a subtle difference and in many ways you're both right, so it's a stupid issue to get personal over.

Except Sunderland, they fear us.

But i have a soft spot for them, been to a few of their games this season ( all free on the corporate side of things, would not pay a bean to watch that awful football they play )
