A lone Evertonian, alone no more...

Made up for you Mez. Evertonians and scousers are amazing hosts and they are genuinely touched that you care about Everton. My experience was pretty similar. Walking into Goodison for the first time literally took my breath away.

Hearing Z-Cars while the players entered the pitch... seen it so many times on TV, but that was great. Made Mrs Nigh cry just a little. If there's anything disappointing on NBC's coverage, it's that the channel (and recording) start at kickoff and rarely catch the players entering the field.

This. If Z-Cars won't make the hair stand up on the back of your neck, then you just aren't wired right.

Definitely. I've been going the match 11 years now and every time I hear Z-Cars I get goosepumps. Even though it's a light-hearted tune, it feels like a battle anthem. When you hear it you go into full blown tribal mode.

I have it in my phone browser and the kids hear it at least weekly in the car. They think it's a battle anthem.

Z-Cars will be be even better on Sunday mate. It had to be played early last night so the Europa Leauge anthem could be played as the players came on. The roar when the second part starts just as the players come on the pitch is still a special thing after all these years.

I'll try and get to the Thomas Frost pre-match. Given the distance you've travelled to see the Blues I reckon it's the least we can do.

A game under floodlights as your first match, it doesn't get much better than that. Welcome to the club mate.

I was thinking the same thing. As another yank over here not knowing other blues (except on here) I hope to have a similar experience one day. That was a great first game to go to, and this comment made me think that I should think about a night game for my first as well.

Thankfully, we know the blues will be a mainstay in europe from here on out...

I didn't even know it was going to happen when I booked the trip. We're locked into the two week window by jobs and such, so I was coming just for the Palace game. Then the Europa draw put us at home v Wolfsburg. Lucky me.

What were your thoughts on the Top Balcony? Where are you sat for Sunday?

We're back up there in the TB. When I booked the tickets, it was the only place I could find two seats together for me and the missus.

To me, it wasn't that far from the pitch, as I'm used to American football in enormous stadiums. The view was awesome, and the balcony was packed out where I was sitting.
