A lone Evertonian, alone no more...

If there's going to be all this SEC talk, I suspect Big Bret would have Everton playing proper hoofball with a 4-4-2. Would probably spend all the budget on Andy Carroll, maybe even dig Heskey out of retirement too.
Would much prefer Gus Malzahn to be Everton's SEC based manager.

Agreed on Gus over the Bretster (sorry, Hogs). One note on Auburn and coaches - Coach Boom would only ever be allowed to speak to the back line and the keeper. Not a word to any offensive player - ever. He'll bring a couple of quality center backs with him when he arrives, though.
(trust us, this means something to us over here in SEC country)

Maybe someone should start an SEC thread for the upcoming football season. I went to Indiana, so it won't be me. I can really enjoy SEC football without all the wailing and gnashing of teeth. I just like annoying Gators. They're in for a looong year, so I'll cut them a little slack.

one more thing - I've always contended that Spurrier is America's Mourinho... Look how he handles his players and the press.

Got to be up there.

I can't believe this was nearly a year ago ! @mezzrow said he'd be wearing some sort of baseball cap in the pub and I did wonder if we'd be able to spot him. I shouldn't have worried, it wasn't exactly tricky to spot two Americans sat in the boozer !

Anyway, with all the focus on transfer windows, friendlies , arguments, stress and excitement about the new season it's easy to forget that Evertonians are a huge family, spread across the world, and not everyone's lucky enough to be able to get to Goodison quickly and easily.

Hopefully the likes of @Emmagood, @Aerin and others will have similar tales to tell soon !
I have friends in Canada that are avid blues, they'd love nothing more than visiting Goodison!

Home derby last yr, there was an American guy in the Winslow waving a big flag blowing a whistle wearing shades... absolutely chuffed he was an evertonian and to be at the game, he was a funny guy.... I know the feeling being irish and only getting to 2-3 games a season.... its just great to be a chosen one
