Groucho, you deserve a huge amount of gratitude and respect for pressing this agenda mate, i expect the demographics of this site are overwhelmingly male and working class. Those of us of that ilk are the worst in the world for admitting we have a problem and any means to get people to open up has to be loudly applauded! Well done sir!
thank you to groucho for spreading even more awareness

What you have done is fantastic, Groucho. Proud to share a forum.

@Groucho is way too modest a man to laud the actual, real success, this thread has "achieved". At least one suicide attempt was avoided, that we know about, and movers and shakers at the forefront of mental health in Government, (sort of), are aware of it, and frankly astonished at the way the thread had been firstly created, then built and self policed.

On a football forum.

Its a credit to every single poster on here.

Well done @Groucho for starting this initiative. Have read through bits of the thread on many occasions and it's a credit to the site and all involved. ;)

The thread has been a great source of support for myself. I am so grateful for all the support I've received from people on here.

Couldn't agree more with this. The site in general often helps me get though the week.
Thanks all.

Let’s keep it up.

If I'm honest, my first impression of that thread was..."This'll go well!" How wrong was I? And how glad I was to be so wrong!

Some great contributions & some truly harrowing tales from out there. Aside from some remarkable people, like wbn61, I personally think the threads greatest achievement is the self moderation. At a time when the anonymous keyboard warrior rules, it is so refreshing & heartening that a thread like this thrives because the members will not put up with petty BS!

Thank you for having the Kahona's to start the thread Groucho! ;)

That is pretty much the conversation we had in Mod Central deciding to have it or not.

Like I/we/you have said, its a credit to the posters.

And a PM I sent to you has had a really positive impact on my circumstances.
Ta mate.

I was just thinking about @wbn61 ( Michael ) the other day.

Retained his humour and dignity right to the vety end.

A true star on here and a remarkable, brave and wonderful fella.

RIP.

Testimony to how wonderful this thread, is the fact that it's visited by fans from other teams and who have taken the idea away to their own forums.

From little acorns.

I just wish I'd had access to something like this thread when I was really bad, as there's more info and support on here for men in particular than all of the other support sites.

spot on lad, not ignoring any welcome female blues on here, it is primarily men, and blokes do find it hard with this stuff so to have peers to support means the world
