6 + 2 Point Deductions

I don't feel like 4 points back is something that an average lawyer couldn't have managed. Surely saying "it's only 9 for administration" would have got us to 6.
Fair point.
But if we would have had the silk in the 1st place instead of our numpty owner arguing our case I’m sure it would have been a better outcome.
Moshiri had already caused the damage both before and during the 1st commission hearing.
This guy I reckon would have run rings round the premier league.
Anyway we should have gone the high court and jibbed the appeal process.

I'm not sure it matters how many arguments he wins, the 'independent' commission can still do whatever they feel like at the end of it. This is not a case by judge or jury, there are no precedents or anything resembling a structure. Which is why it's been complete chaos.

I still think that the way we took “only” 4 points back on the chin is a sign that we have already agreed that the next punishment is done and dusted and minimal. Reckon 2 points, or even a small punishment next season (because double jeopardy alone), or us put on parole with an ankle tag for a season or two.

Of course, knowing Forest’s expected punishment and if they are going to accept or contest is another matter. Going to go right down to the wire this.

Just hoping at least one, but preferably two of teams around us collapse, and we steadily pull 6+ points ahead - at least.

I've seen a few people suggest this, but I don't see how this can be the case. Why go through the rigmarole of our hearing for the second charge, followed by setting up an independent commission to deliberate the findings if it's already been decided? Is everyone just going to sit there twiddling their thumbs knowing that it's all pointless?

Because they have to be seen to have gone through the motions. Them and to a much lesser extent, us. Unfortunately thats how the world ticks. Money/power talks.

Suppose the new IC will in theory only have one season/accounting period to discuss. The other years in this assessment period have already been examined, judged and penalised by 2 separate ICs, which hilariously disagreed on a couple of areas and the penalty.

The most recent season doesn’t have any mitigations (all the USM, player X,Y,Z,J,T stuff already rejected), no more Covid deductions to argue over. Should take about 10minutes to determine the size of our breach - unless we walk back in with new arguments to try and discredit the whole setup.

I still think the PL will put huge pressure on the ICs for us and Forest to come up with some kind of agreed settlements. Its the only way, given their own stupid timetable, to avoid appeals and ensure the season finishes on the final whistles, not a week later.

The show must go on..... It's become a scripted drama series,..... I wonder will Everton get another points deduction or will they get away with it this time as they have already been punished for most of the accounting period, maybe any punishment or lack of punishment has already been pre determined.. How exciting......... Make sure you keep clicking those links to find out.

no way would that have been heard any time soon, so we'd have been long relegated by that time, with all the associated damage. That's what the PL is relying on, that seasons end and people won't go to court.

What they haven't considered is teams who won't be relegated by their deductions, who have very little to lose in taking them and their rules to court. A team like Villa could bring it all down
