6 + 2 Point Deductions

What a sh it show
Now I can truly get behind the promotion pushes of Leicester and Leeds.

Just as people fretted that the three coming up would be much stronger than this year's class, we might just have to reappraise that with both losing, ooh, 6 points before a ball is kicked. That'll even the playing pitch for our denuded dunces.

PSR's only reason for existing is to keep their elite clubs eternally out of the reach of the small clubs as Master's calls them. Only once in the 32 years the PL has existed has a 'smaller' club won it and that was just a freak season. That statistic alone should prompt all the 'smaller' clubs to stand together and do something about it but they are all too busy fighting for the scraps and yielding to outlandish punishments designed to keep them in the gutter.
It's like the English electorate and the Tories...

One can almost predict the next victim...

1. Chelsea - £672.8m - CAN'T TOUCH, NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

2. Manchester United - £600.2m - CAN'T TOUCH, NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

3. Arsenal - £551.2m - CAN'T TOUCH, NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

4. Tottenham Hotspur - £463m - CAN'T TOUCH, NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

5. Newcastle United - £416.2m - BONESAW ALERT! CAN'T TOUCH, NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

6. Aston Villa - £364.5m - ALLO, ALLO, ALLO, WHAT HAVE WE GOT HERE, THEN?

7. Manchester City - £316.5m - VERY COMPLEX, NOT AT ALL LIKE EVERTON, NEEDS TIME...

Spurs have been well run by their owners (ENIC?.) for years. It’s no coincidence that they’ve stopped being a mid table side any more is it?
For me I want clubs to be able to compete on their own means, not because the person who coughs them is richer than the person owning the club down the road.
We have suffered from this.
We have been denied many champions league qualifications by Chelsea and city.
We could have good owners and been well run and been around the top 4. As fans , that doesn’t seem fair. But now, we’re on the verge of bankruptcy.
But that horse has bolted.
5 or 6 clubs are now way ahead of the rest, with income streams to match. No one else can ‘compete’ in the short or medium terms on their own means.

Restricting spending may be the right thing to do - but is futile once some clubs have reaped the benefits and others can’t follow suit. As stated, the options are for every other club to live within their means and bob along, maybe hoping to get a 5th place finish in 20 years time if everything goes well,
or for a rich owner to spend big in the hope of getting there within 5 years (and then generating the income streams to sustain that kind of league position).

Oh, and Chelsea finished inside the top 6 each of the 7 years before Abramovich came along (with two FA cups and a league cup). They denied us nothing.

Plus, if we are up for breaching the FFP rules just for last season - why are villa up as well as they have a debt of a 100million for one season ?

Our super silk surely uses that as a defence for us from his opening statement ......
