6 + 2 Point Deductions

The hearing for Man. City actually concluded over a year ago last week! Still nothing on them and very much doubt anything this year now.

Had completely forgotten about the Chelsea thing. Aren't they trying to worm out of things by saying this was a self-referral to the prem as auditing from the takeover revealed all this stuff under Abramovich so shows the egotistic world these CL clubs orbit.

And how lax the premier league is actually at investigating them thoroughly.

How Chelsea got away with the BS of selling off their hotel to themselves is criminal. Our PSR was due to a war, an absent owner, and we certainly weren’t in violation because we were overspending on players. Those other teams are doing just that. They gained a huge talent advantage over everyone else.

That’s what PSR should stop. The gap between 1 and 20 in terms of net spend is unreal. And most of those teams with huge PSR issues are the top spenders with deep benches, and protection to get away with it from the PL who turns a blind eye. The PL is like a WWE referee who just always happens to miss someone getting hit over the head with a metal chair or for 115 charges against a club they favour.

The PL being lax benefited Everton massively, you could argue it literally saved us from ruin.

We are in such a good position to take advantage of PSR rules these days. Selling the women's team, possibly selling Goodison, hospitality revenues that actually belong in the 21st Century. Holding god knows how many different events at our new stadium. We just aren't Charlie Bucket, at all.

Was there anything saying the hearing should be held the following season, or were they forced into making a decision as to when the hearing would be and they chose the following season? I don't know?

But having the points deductions come the following season was indeed massively to our advantage, as in: we would have otherwise been relegated had that not been the case.

I'm not in love with the PL. I don't think having Russian ownership did us any favours. But I don't think anyone really had it in for us, and I actually think we were quite lucky during that crazy era.

They had no rules, they made it up on the fly.

if they had it in for it us, why would they allow us to sign off 220 million losses to covid. The most in the league by a country mile.

The Man City hearing is still ongoing.

It's been ongoing for over 6 years at least.

They have that much money in legal teams they can fight it for years. Which they have been.
