Impossable task...... The only club to have had any PL success outside of the big 5 is leciester, they won the league and still got pillaged by the top teams now Leciester are in the championship and facing P&S punishment..

That will certainly keep a club treading water... not being good enough to regularly break into the European places, but being good enough not to be drawn into relegation battles.
But, to regularly compete at the top, you need to be able to spend big money, both in terms of transfer fees and wages. The clubs which have this ability are ultimately going to be the ones who purchase the top players from these efficient, well built clubs. This both keeps them at the top while not allowing those below to catch up.
The rich clubs always have the 'get out of jail' card of being able to spend mega money on top players to plug any gaps. Everyone else is relying on a gem coming through the academy or taking a risk to buy a 'lesser' name, in the hope they will come good... and ultimately be sold on.

And/or the rules aren't improving the way clubs are ran. They are still piloted by cranks, charlatans and the PR arms of nation states.

And I wouldn't think twice about swapping their last 10 years with ours.
It’s far too early to know much about this season. We’re dealing with a three year calculation and we only know the first year’s number.
The first year we now know is only about 10m PSR loss. The second year we can extrapolate has to be more than 40m for us to be charged- although I still don’t fully understand how we got there without taking action to avoid it. The whispers seem to be it was quite a narrow breach, way less than the 20m, so probably not much more than 40m.
That leaves quite a lot of wiggle room for this season and we still have time to take evasive action (a player sale). IMO if the club has all the numbers in front of them, a fair amount of wiggle room from the years that have dropped off, and if necessary players who are attracting interest we should not breach this year.
