6 + 2 Point Deductions

My reading of this decision is that pretty much any breach will be punished by a points deduction (of some level).

i think it's potentially quite bad for us moving forward. I think they've set a precedent here today, and not a good one for us. I find it hard to see how Everton or Forest don't lose points.

If it's 2 points (2/3s of 6), we can absorb that this season. If it's another 6, we can probably better Luton's points return between now and the end of the season. If Forest get done by at least the same margin, it gives us an improved chance.

We cannot breach again though, there's no guarantee the next 3 teams that come up will be as bad as the 3 who came up this season. And given we will again have little to no spending power again, I don't fancy our chances of dealing with further deductions.

I think it's fair to say that, given all the circs, they've given us the bare minimum.

but lashing money to it was an on the pitch advantage not even similar to us
You could take any of the £20m's we spent in that time on players like Patterson and interchange them with the £20m stadium loan dispute.

its all wrong, the idea that you can't spend your own money to compete is mental, but all things being equal under the rules part of our losses were player signings, just like Forest.

Given the independent commissions don't accept any mitigating factors then Forest don't have a case with their argument regarding the Johnson sale. They will get at least 6 points and I think it will be even more - 8 points at the very least would be my prediction.

I think Forest will be relegated.
The one thing that makes me slightly nervous about that is how keen they were to fit in with EFL precedents and Sheffield Wednesday were allowed significant mitigation for the sale of their stadium after the relevant period, it halved their sanction.

That will be Forest’s argument but there is obviously a massive difference between the sale of a fixed asset and a player, especially when they played him for three games this season.

Oh I agree, in a just world though everyone would be treated equally. Frankly I'd love City to get a -60 points and see how much the media patronizes them like they did to us trying to act like the deduction is good actually.

You're right though, we and Forest will get it, ultimately it'll relegate Forest and they'll put a rule in place because that punishment shouldn't happen to fans anymore, despite the fact that they couldn't give a toss about fans, it'd just be about the money that City and Chelsea generate.
Mad thing is if it was a season like this they'd have an outside chance of staying up!

They’ll slap four on for the second charge.

Utter shambles and are that much of a mess they’ve copied the EFLs framework because they didn’t have one.

Either way, we need to start winning games. Saturday and other results through the season haven’t helped.

3 points needed on Saturday now minimum
