6 + 2 Point Deductions

The problem is that there are far too many clubs (or club owners) that are just happy to toe the line and stay in the league to pick up the financial rewards. If the fans of clubs such as Brighton et al are happy with that then the owners get away with it.

Correct there are 13 or 14 owners who need shooting agreeing these rules and regs, no ambition whatsoever, happy just to make up the numbers tow the line and try to stay in the premier league. We were apparently one of them, like Turkeys voting for Christmas.

Could fans sue the Premier League in some sort of class action?

We're paying customers after all and they've already set a precedent with "don't punish the fans" being used as an argument against docking points from the scabs.

Highly suspect the answer to my question is no, but thought I'd put it out there anyway.

John, we ARE 1/20TH of the Premier League. It's made up of the clubs who compete in it.

Fair point, I don't see how that would affect it though. You could probably sue your own mother if there were grounds for it.

I suspect there isn't grounds for the fans to sue the PL board of directors, but as I said, just thought I'd throw it out there anyway. I'd be happy with a settlement of half a twix if I thought it would apply pressure to them.

Haha, true. Didn't Big Nev sue his daughter ?

That's always been the case I think. We can't argue the finances on appeal. We appeal the punishment.
We can argue both. The appeal can change the factual (financial) findings of the first commission, or they could uphold the facts but still alter the punishment. Because there’s no sanctions framework they, like the first commission, can issue any punishment they like.

Could someone explain this cartel to me?

It gets mentioned a hell of a lot. I think it is Sky, the Top 6 and the Premier league.

If it is a cartel though why are TNT and Amazon allowed to show games?

Why does the top 6 continually change?

And above all if the top 6 and Sky are in cahoots then why did Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Spurs and United want to join a European Super League that Sky wouldn't be showing?
Do you live under a rock or something?

Have you never watched the PL before? 52 of the last 60 top 6 finishers have been from 6 clubs.

Amazon have been showing 20 games a season. And from 2025/26 have zero. TNT will show 52 games. Sky will Show 215.

Sky and the PL are in cahoots. As shown by their treatment of us (Sky not showing the protests/banners, using fake crowd noise, reporting from across the river because it was “too dangerous”).

The big 6 have their own self interest as well though. Interestingly, Newcastle are making their way into the big 6 due to having the richest owners in the world as Sky bet now call it the “big 7”.

It all comes down to money.

Signed up on the 8th May 2019, the same day Big Red beat Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League semi final.

Quoted by a Kopite Twitter account who also spends his entire life talking about Everton’s finances. And also appears to be a member of this forum seeing as he has access to the Everton forum.

Eerily similar posting style to former member @Baileyjon who was banned and outed as a kopite. Constant references to “tin foil hats” and “conspiracies”.

Conclusion: definite blue.

In fact, following up on this, it's clear from our statement the other day we ARE going to argue the finances, not just the punishment"

"the Club is in a position where it has had no option but to submit a PSR calculation which remains subject to change, pending the outcome of the appeal."

So we are clearly going to argue the PSR calculation issued by the commission is wrong.

This is important because any alteration to the 21/22 calculation feeds into the 22/23 one so an alteration to the first could bring us under the limit for 22/23. Say, for example, they give us 10m back as compensation for Sigurdsson's situation. That wouldn't put us under for 21/22 since we'd still be 9.5 over (but ought to reduce the punishment), but without knowing the numbers it COULD put us under for the period up to 23.

That's why it's important to challenge both factual findings and sanction in the appeal.

Best reply I’ve seen in a while.

The facts are, the facts are being greyed out and overclouded with false information. Nobody seems to even know what the accurate information is anymore. People say it’s the loan for the stadium, people say it’s Sigurdsson - not sueing him for damages etc, people say it’s us not selling players and or buying players (all of which the PL signed off by the way), it just seems like the correct information is now being tarnished and people like Carragher need to not have an opinion on the matter.

Nobody actually knows why we have broken the PSR again, NOBODY, other than the Premier League and maybe the main hierarchy at Everton who have been through the accounts. The first breach we know of because the resulting documents were put online but nobody actually knows this time what or why the breach is. For all we know it’s for 10k and it could be a minimal fine.
