It’s hugely disappointing, but not disastrous.

We’re selling 8,000 seats which are obstructed at the moment, have 32,800 season ticket holders, and alleged 10k more on waiting list.

Imagine what it’s like with a brand spanking waterfront stadium.

I feel 60,000 would have been perfect. We can expand if we need to, which is a huge huge plus.

Let’s get the design right, and let’s make a hostile square stadium.

They made it very clear there may never be any plans for expansion.

It makes little sense to me to go through the hassle of potential redevelopment. If they wanted 62k they'd do it now. I'd suspect that won't happen now.

If there is an economic need to do it then it will happen, I’m assuming the stadium can be expanded easily as part of the design.

I suspect the 52k stadium capacity is so it’s easier to build and secure finance for it. Something that would be challenging in current market as 62k build will be something like 35% more expensive to build.

If it was hard locked to 52k then I would be very worried and if they said they couldn’t do it then my pitch fork would be well and truly out.

Still represents a 13k improvement on GP with no restrictive views

You arent far wrong here.

I would have preferred 55k with potential to increase to 65k.

A new stadium with mod con facilities and easy transport links put together with a good football team playing decent football will drive up demand for seats and season tickets no end.

It’s all a bit safe and lacking in real ambition.

Let’s just get the bloody thing built though.

The 62k higher number wont need any rebuild Tim.

Its future proofed in a way that we could change to 62k within 24 hours.

And change it back again to 52,000 the next day if we don't like the look of it, brilliant, that will do me.

Expansion to 62,000 will never happen.I think its just to placate the divs that believe every thing the club says.

As long as it passes the eye test I'm totally fine with that. Throwing a few thousand extra onto the capacity and possibly ruining the design all because a few virgins can't stand the idea of it being smaller than the London Stadium is not going to sway the opinion of actual experts like Dan Meis.

Potential investors will only be interested in the facts and right now the club must only able to project 52k as a deliverable starting number. If it can be increased later and keep the stadium looking brilliant then great. For now it's best to just leave it to the professionals rather than losing your head and basing your opinion on what some random fellas with no real clue on a podcast say.
