Best case scenario is to sign Barry and let him understudy at his feet...play him in the league cup and the odd league game and let him progress. I have very high hopes for him. Although he's not like for like with Barry...more box to box, but has a great range if passing.

Yes, exactly this. Even with Lundstram (and lets say he had an immediate impact for arguments sake) we would still only really have;

Barry - if he signs, I think he will
McCarthy -- Class
Lundstram -- 1st season in the squad
Osman -- Sub at best
Gibson -- injury prone and cant rely on him to make games

So probably just lack one more there really.
