I said I had to wonder what they'd think when we make a media circus out of Barkley and barely a peep about them. All today is is a "look at us" moment in my opinion, probably to counter all of the ink the RS signings are getting.

I kind of get why. Roberto wants to kind of show that Ross is the biggest piece of the puzzle. Maybe more of a "look I'm throwing you a presser to show you're here with a new deal. Citeh or united wouldn't do that."

If this were done in say October we'd be all for it. But the fact of the matter is, is that we're in transfer season. We're waiting to see if our biggest signing ever is completed. The timing of this is poor with regards to current circumstances, not the magnitude of the announcement.

I expected the announcement was something else. Whether that be a new signing or news regarding the stadium. However Ross getting a new contract is absolutely wonderful and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks God there was a Bigger story doing the rounds today (Southampton Chairman doint the media rounds on SKY and talkSPORT) otherwise SSN may have gone big on this major announcement and we have taken some stick for this, as it was we have just about got away with this gaff.
