Interesting to read. Some of you got it and you're right in identifying the ambiguity but in simple terms, as stated earlier, the sum is broken down from left to right bit by bit hence why the answer is easy. It's 81.

It's also permittable to have an answer of 1 if you're using lateral calculation. I should know.

thats because there are no brackets see, which is exactly why brackets were introduced.... to avoid confusion for standers, still same rules of calculation though.
