If we had eight home games left, I'd say we were odds on. We're really good at home in the league, as we've proved by winning our last three home league games on the trott.

But we've got one point out of our last three aways and have 5 aways to go including four of the hardest.

We've only lost four away games in the league. Only City and United better that.

I fully expect us to grab a few draws but we need three wins out of five aways and that includes a win at a ground we've never done it at under Moyes. It's hard winning away games in this league and that's why as impressive as winning three at home on the trott is, I think 4th is beyond us.

I mean we need to haul back three teams who are ahead of us, 14 points (winning the homes and drawing the aways) isn't going to do that. In terms of points per game, chelsea and spurs if they can keep up their average season form will finish on around about nineteen more points then we have now.

Six or seven wins will do it but that would require us to practically double our away win total for the season.

Chelsea and Spurs have both lost two of their last four games. If we went the rest of the season without losing a match of course we'd be in for 4th. We're only four points off 4th as it is.

Lets assume they keep that up then. Chelsea have four points more than us and eight games to go, they'll lose 4 and win 4 and so get 12 points. That'll leave them 16 points ahead and we'll get 14 from winning our home games and drawing the aways. (Obviously that requires them to lose a game against us that we've drawn, like but a point extra to them makes no difference.)

Same with spurs, seven games left and six points ahead. They only need to win three and lose three and draw one to finish above us if we don't win any aways.

We have to win at least 6 out of the 8 to get 4th, which is 3 away wins out of 5 and is going to be some task.

Sack the league off now, we ain't getting Champions League.

Should just go hell for leather in the FA Cup, get to the Semis and hope we get a good draw.
