we beat zenit 1 nil at goodison that season and they played very well so it’s a bit of a stretch to say We would of mullered them mate
And a ropey penalty at that, my recollection of that game was they pulled us to pieces. And that season they were the form team
Also did they have a man sent off

they may of had a man sent off I’m not sure. It was when Andre Arse shaven was at his peak

this is probably one of our worst seasons of all time

knocked out of both cups early doors

not beaten any of the current top 7 teams and that includes friggin BURNLEY

embarassing performances in europe

caught up in a relegation race

on the verge of replacing our manager for the fourth time this season (inc caretaker)

at least in 03/04 we beat spurs 3-1

Our domestic cup record is pretty awful since 95 and as for European competition it' not much better. We blew our one chance at champions league - and I know Kojak screwed us but it is still clutching at straws. In the uefa cup / europa league we had some decent group stages (ignore Standard Liege and Dinamo Bucharesti) when we beat the likes of Wolfsburg, AZ alkmaar, Lille, Bate, Aek, Zenit and Nuremburg. Let's forget this season shall we.

But in the end we were gubbed in knock out stages very easily at the hands of Sporting Lisbon and Dynamo Kiev. Unlucky against Fiorentina granted. Never really tested by the Young Boys or Brann Flakes. In truth we haven't faced any big powerhouse teams in that time.
