Yeah, I'm with you guys - I picked the Ferguson one too.

I was still at high school, Everton were bottom of the league and had been seriously garbage (as in real chance of going down) for well over 12 months. So you can imagine the stick I was enduring.

Walker went, Royle came in & Ferguson and Rideout became instant heroes.

It was like the Lukaku effect x 10. Ferguson became my idol.

I was in my last year at high school, Everton were bottom of the league and had been seriously garbage (as in real chance of going down) for well over 12 months. So you can imagine the stick I was enduring.

As Royle said 'He was a hero before he was even a player'. I can't imagine taking to a player the way I took to him ever again.

Ferguson. I remember the game well. We had been so rubbish that I was expecting to go into school and be torn to shreds by the rs afterwards. We had so little hope of a result and I'll never forget my uncle saying "we'll get at least a draw now" as we went 2 up in the latter stages- summing up how poor we had been in the build up.

Voted Sharp. That goal sealed the fact that Everton where the equals of Liverpool after years of underachievement. It was a MASSIVE moment in 1984.

The Ferguson goal would be my 2nd choice. It gave the club belief having looked totally lost for months.
