Still, if these diseases are ever going to get really big, they're going to need a better name. Who's actually scared of H5N1? Sounds like C3PO's circuit-sniffing unemployed cousin. "Bird Flu" was a good start, but ultimately not frightening enough to catch on. No wonder the "Black Plague" rampaged over Europe and nobody remembers anymore the "Dark Grey Minor Malady."

No doubt they'll call it 'Superplague'. Or shades of 'Africanised Killer Bees', they'll find some way of negatively associating it with Iran or North Korea. 'Kim Jong Illness' or 'Tehrain Killer Flu'.
