It will be fun to see the 3 hosts rig the schedule by having teams in their group play one match in Guadalhara, the next in Vancouver and the 3rd match in NYC.

I'll probably go to a group stage match as long has its not all that far and not at FedEx field.

I'm happy that Morocco isn't going to be bankrupt by this but damn that tourney would have been fun. I would love to watch a WC in a non-petrol state North African or Middle East country.

The winners out if this will be the airlines ferrying people backwards and forwards across a quarter of the globe between matches. Oh and coincidentally the fuel oil families that run the US.

The losers will be the football fans who have to cough up, plus the ailing atmosphere which will have to sucker up more CO2 output in the sake of profit.

I'm sure this won't happen but I thought a good idea would be creating regions where teams play there groups to minimize travel.

Just for some perspective, I am on a work trip and have got a 6 hour flight this afternoon to look forward to. That is a donestic flight. 6 Freaking hours. Flying from Mexico city to Toronto to watch a world cup match holds no fears for me.

An illogical assumption. Even large countries can have smaller areas in. Eg. Canada - world cup could be held in Eg Ontario.

The Qatar one us laughable and shouldn't be played. I'd be quite happy if we didn't qualify or if we boycotted it.

Agreed, but after the group stages there will still be thousands of fans heading to the airports for the next matches.
