It's 48 teams.... The tournament is diluted so much. 16 groups of 3? With more teams advancing out of the group than are eliminated. The group of death has met it's death. You can't possibly put together a good group unless it's full of mediocre teams the way seeding will work.

It was 12:30pm on a Saturday. Absolute glory days, that World Cup. I was in my local with all my mates, absolutely packed-out for the England games - I remember the Argentina match and us absolutely pummelling Denmark during a lunch time kick-off. I was pissed by 10am on most weekends during that World Cup. With there being 3 games on a Saturday and Sunday, you'd watch the first one while drinking, then find out the results and big news from the rest of the matches the following morning when you'd sobered up (despite having watched those matches, but too drunk to remember any of it).
