Always liked Tony Gubba and Alan Parry ; multi sports commentator as well.Yes, BBC definitely superior on the commentary front. In the 80s, it was more even. For every Barry Davies, John Motson, and Tony Gubba, there was Brian Moore, Martin Tyler, and Gerry Harrison. I liked Alan Parry and John Helm, as well, and Hugh Johns was in a class of his own for a while. Today, definitely Mowbray, Wilson, and the underrated Jonathan Pearce, who for all his shouty sulkiness, really knows his onions. I was pleased to hear him on the opening game highlights. I'm not a big fan of Champion, who I always feel is a little prim. His silly comment about the Mexican president the other day betrayed a remarkable lack of political knowledge. He was calling her unpopular on the same day the Guardian were saying she was the most popular left winger in the world... An agenda?
I can't really take to Chatterface. Tyldesley was always a slightly weird little man, but he was a talented commentator, if not always to everyone's taste. I think they got rid of him too soon. Hutchison I don't mind. He's distinctive, which is a help in a world of anonymous voices. At the risk of going all Elton Welsby, I have yet to hear a female commentator I liked. I don't doubt their knowledge, I just haven't taken to any of the voices.
may he be sacked early thenWorst Brasilia in history imho. Carlo may well get the sack and may end up here
