2026 FIFA World Cup - General Chat

A fun game to waste some time and possibly build spirits?

My first attempt:

Quite enjoyable to play. It took me several attempts to win the World Cup but I managed it on two occassions, with my first attempt including an attack of Richarlison, Romelu Lukaku, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi. My second successful attempt involved just picking the strongest player on each attempt to build the team. I was delighted that I was able to build a side with our own former players in on a few occasions (including Brian Labone, Marco Materazzi, Segundo Castillo, Daniel Amokachi, Lee Carsley, Tim Cahill and Trevor Steven).

Lets hope so. But lets also not forget that most NFL stadiums don't want a grass surface, and will be ripping it up as soon as they can, so dont expect them to invest in the quality we see in European stadiums. All about the profit margins these yanks.
It’s honestly not, some of the turf fields are in fully indoor stadiums where growing playable grass isn’t realistic and Foxboro had terrible grass so they switched to turf. Some stadiums have gone all in on quality grass and still struggle to keep it playable at times. Our football is brutal for fields.

I really like Stamenic for NZ, watched him as a 17yo absolutely bossing the games against some pretty good teams too. But the one to watch is Eli Just (Motherwell). He was in the same local team as Stamenic (and a few others in the NZ squad). Laziest comparison is to Bernado Silva in stature, style of play and sublime control.
