Reminds me of RTE Sport during the 1994 World Cup when Maradona was busted for drugs...

The ticket stuff was a huge miscalculation. Priced almost all international fans out at the start. Waited too long to realize it, and now there’s not enough time for accommodations and planning. Add in the price increases elsewhere for things like airfare and it’s just stupid.

I’m still excited for the games but the atmosphere will be lacking in the nob marquee games I fear.

We’re only about 35 miles from Santa Clara stadium and I haven’t even considered going (and I went to a Copa America Argentina vs Chile game there).

It is mainly a combination of extortionate prices (especially when you consider all the extras) and the lack of high profile games. The only other person I know here who like me will get up to watch the premier league also isn’t going, let alone all the others who are casual to disinterested in soccer.

Verizon dumped a bunch of free tickets to the games here in Dallas on their app the other day. Didn’t get any but I refuse to pay more than zero dollars to see a match, even though they’re playing 9 of them a couple miles from my house.
