that means 9 spots taken up by defenders

normally 4 defenders play, so if you get cover for each defender that's 8 defenders in total

9 defenders is hardly extravagant under the circumstances especially if you want to fully rotate your team in your last group game to rest players if you have already qualified for the round of 32 by then

You could always pick an outfield player as a Gk, just never stick the gloves on.

Personally I would rather have a couple of extra players that can change a game.
But maybe it's just more Highlighted though by certain players that are either being carried or missing out

I can't honestly say I'm excited about the tournament anyway.

So anyway we've been promoting Diego Luna in this WC in ads and stuff because he's pretty fun to watch and one of our better players. He's also Mexican American, so we want to display an image that we all aren't all ghouls either.

And he just got cut from the squad.
