Have they updated the band people are in? Might ask my mate to check his if so
I don’t know if there’s been an updated banding, but a couple of posts on another thread implied that there has been. My lad checked his banding last week and it was unchanged (1501 to 2000) but that’s not to say the info hasn’t been refreshed anyway.

Has anyone on the waitlist had any news yet or been contacted?
We were supposed to be getting contacted week commencing 25th May. I assume this will be true Everton style and that will mean sometime late June.

Nothing yet received by my lad who will be letting me know when he’s contacted. He’s in the 1501 to 2000 band so possibly (but no more than that) in line to be offered a season ticket.

Would be good idea for people to update their vote on whether or not they actually renewed in the end. Or to add their vote if they didn't previously to give a bigger sample size. Might give a better indication on what the turnover of ST's will be for those on waiting lists.

I’ve noticed that the percentages have continued to change as people have added to the poll after the season ticket renewal window closed. Perhaps therefore it does represent how people did, or didn’t, renew. If it does, whereas 20% of respondents claim not to have renewed there’s no way whatsoever that 20% of all season ticket holders will have relinquished.

Yes Tom, feel free to create the thread with poll.

Statistically, nearly 300 is a big enough sample size to be representative, especially for a simple binary choice. Ofcourse, that could've initially been skewed by those wishing to register some kind of dissatisfaction being keener to vote(for whatever reasons). If it still stands at 20% after the deadline (with updated votes where necessary), that sampling should be even more random and therefore more representative, to within something like approx 5% accuracy for a 40,000 population.

If so, it would represent a substantial drop-out rate, but there could be a lot of contributory reasons. A lot of older fans hung on for years waiting to sample the new stadium, and some with mobility issues have struggled with the accessibility at BMD, and may now have seen and had enough. Our season ticket numbers grew for several years towards the end of GP, and many were reluctant to let them go due to the obvious limited supply of tickets, and only having obstructed seats left in general sale etc. That is no longer the case, and there has been little to no problem acquiring tickets for most games via general sale or resale platforms. Also, the relative difficulty in sharing tickets may deter many of those who regularly used to hand tickets to friends and family if they couldn't make it. Many of those seats have also not resold on the resale sites..... so again, the pressure to renew and/or the attraction of a season ticket may have diminshed for some fans. The new stadium was a step-change for the fans on several levels. Maybe enough to produce a step-change in renewals, which for most clubs are usually very low in percentage terms these days.

I don't think they will make season tickets available on a one for one basis.

Everything we've seen from the new ownership would indicate that they will seek to reduce the % of ST holders within the overall capacity to increase revenue by charging more for a general admission ticket or selling through a third party.

The membership and general admission prices will be very interesting this year after they applied a pretty sizeable increase last year.

The other change that they slipped in last year that went largely unnoticed I think was not releasing the category of games at the start of the season. Which enabled them to set them game by game including making that Sunderland game (which historically would surely have been a Cat C) a Category A match and charging top whack on the basis Europe was potentially on the line.

This is exactly what I expect to happen. Probably still finalising how many of the relinquished season tickets they are willing to offer to the waiting list

Your remarks are most interesting and entirely logical. I too have some background in the analysis and use of statistics and the sample size is (potentially) indicative. I nonetheless think that the high ‘I didn’t renew’ percentage is (with all respect to those who indicated that way) a protest vote that won’t be reflected in the actual ST relinquish rate. We shall see!

You may be right, but in the club’s info about the ST renewal process did they not explicitly state that all relinquished STs would be offered to those at the top of the waiting list? I think they did.

Tbh, my statistical analysis doesn't really extend beyond A-level maths over 40yrs ago, but some of the mud must've stuck.

Yes, I agree about the initial protest vote aspect, but would've thought that would balance out after the deadline, to more reflect the reality, IF people updated accordingly.

I noticed some in the comments said that they relented on their protest and renewed, but also many saying that they had dropped out and were going to pick and choose games going forward. Sadly, 2 of my older mates have given up after over 100 years worth of season tkts between them.

It's a risky game. They regularly didn't sell all of ST resale seats in the stadium's inaugural season. We're not LFC or Man Utd, we need a high ST ownership to ensure that we fill it regularly. There is also less incentive to buy corporate lite seats if those fans can see cheaper GA seats going empty every week. The whole financial model collapses if they push the tkt pricing too far.... i think they're already at that point.
