So you think Trump was lying when he said this?
And if he doesn’t pardon them what do you think the reaction of his voters will be?
Genuinely answer is I don't know.
One thing I do know is that even his running mate J.D Vance, alongside others such as Ramaswamy, Kirk, Musk and co, were clear in that nobody needs to be behind 100% of his policies, or even like him personally. I don't imagine the voters he's taken away from the Democrats will give a damn whether or not he pardons them (as these are mostly concerned about the economy), and it turns out he flipped a lot of Biden voters.
Trump talks and promises a lot. He won't end the war within a day, and I doubt he'll pardon all of those imprisoned after January 6. Maybe some will be, or others will have their sentences reevaluated or something like that. One of his pledges I do believe though and that is there will be no federal abortion ban. Oh and that he'll secure the border - at least compared to the state its been left in by the current regime. Oh, I also don't think there will be a mass deportation of 10 million illegals (impossible really, isn't it?) any time soon, but they will look at a select group of say several thousand (maybe those convicted of crimes in the US) and deport them.
His supporters want to see stricter border controls and those that have come in illegally and commit crimes deported and I am sure he'll make good on that. He will be afforded a lot of good grace and leeway by his staunchest of supporters for sure.
Regardless, he still offered a lot more hope for a majority of voters, hence him humiliating Harris. I am still astounded she came out and said she wouldn't do anything different to Biden - where is the hope in that?
I am intrigued about his next run as President and want to return to this post in say six months and see what has or hasn't started to happen.
