Well I don't think it was wise on Zelensky's part to anger Trump's campaign staff by calling his running mate "too radical", for starters. I understand the sentiment that Trump should be more helpful/respectful to Ukraine but if their leader is actively smearing his campaign team, it does take "two to tango" to create strong relations.
