Their candidate is an 80 year old convicted felon and rapist and paedophile who screeds in capital letters on Twitter like a child and is possibly the dumbest ever elected leader in world history. I don't think they're too concerned with potential lines of attack at this point

That is a dam good point Sir! I hope they do replace vance though, maybe it would mean a few thousand more undecided voters thinking twice about the republicans. In a race of fine margins, may make a difference!!

This messaging would have to be carefully worded (Biden/Harris have expanded the existing tex breaks those with kids so Portnoy is already “paying for other people’s kids”) but Vance has suggested the porn ban and the impacts of Roe being overturned aren’t just on women.

Despite that I still think it would cause problems for his campaign, especially among the Musks and Thiels of thr world who are providing funds - they like Vance’s vision and would not like a switch to a more moderate Haley for example.
Also there are lots of logistical issues, they would have to make the change really soon to get on ballots and not sure if there is any mechanism if Vance didn’t fall on his sword (dooming his entire political career)

Sorry for repeating myself, but this is why the attacks on Trump using Vance (and Musk, and especially Thiel) are might well prove to be very effective.
It is very difficult to pose as one of the good ol boys when you have the billionaire techbros on your side, men who sell electric cars, want to put chips in people's heads (and then monetize it), who both dissed Trump and who Trump dissed and are quite frankly very strange people who represent exactly the sort of effeminate wealthy elites that MAGA (and the US right more generally) has been taught to hate.
I still think its possible for Vance to be a better pick mind, but not when all he does is do what his daddy tells him.
