Hopefully, all this highly disgusting sexism and racism directed toward KH will backfire, as I (want to) believe most people will find these views both extremely unacceptable and/or completely orthogonal to the actual political issues at hand.
The “step parents aren’t real parents” isn’t an angle I honestly expected them to run with
I’m not sure they have really thought through the implications of that message to a nation with a) a lot of blended families b) a lot of adoptive parents.
Especially in light of their policy of wanting to ban abortion and increase adoptions.

I don’t think trumps campaign knows what the right message is anymore so people are just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. They built everything on Joe being too old and senile. That’s all they needed before. Now they’re lost. Honestly the more offensive they get the better. That approach won’t get them anything.
