Here's how I see it.
A ton of moderate suburban Americans sat out 2016, be it through apathy or a dislike of the Clinton dynasty.
These voters came out in force in 2018 and are turning out again for Biden.
I reckon these supporters will turn out in November to give him the edge over Trump.
Now he needs a progressive VP and to shift slightly to the left on health and climate, but not so much as to scare off the moderates.
He has to try and convince some of Sanders's base that he's listening to them and that he'll work towards what they want as well.
I think Yang might make a good VP but I don't see that happening.

rather than laugh @Grinch, point out what's so funny.
The fact that suburban voters are coming back out to vote?
The fact that I think Biden can beat Trump?
or Yang as VP? (if it's this, then fair enough, it's probably a bit extreme)

Eh not really I don't blame them I hate trump but Biden isn't great either
I agree Biden isn't "great'

But there is no comparison to Trump, this "administration" and the ridiculous actions of the house and senate.

So it's a classic lesser of two evils scenario.

So I state again that it would be unforgivable to not vote for Biden based on some ideological principle

Unforgivable

ugh, it's like the Clinton 'two sides of the same coin' nonsense from 4 years ago.
Look mate, I know he’s been the most incompetent, unqualified, intellectually incurious, divisive and all round heinous President in (at very least modern) history... BUT SHE HAD A PRIVATE EMAIL SERVER.

I mean there’s some things that just can’t be allowed to slide.

Yea, I cant even get it straight in my head. Biden doesn't have the same ideas as Sanders so I'm gonna sit this one out and give Trump a better chance of picking two more SC judges which will make it harder for anyone to push forward Sanders's ideas.
Wiked Smaht, as they'd say around here.

Michigan is a must win state for dems in 2020 so having a high turnout is encouraging

Biden had a spectacular showing on Tuesday, winning every single county in Michigan and blowing Sanders out in three other states that voted, essentially sealing the nomination by leaving his lone rival no plausible path forward. But the big takeaway from the day’s big prize, Michigan, isn’t that Biden is a spectacular candidate. The big takeaway is that he doesn’t need to be.

Two things happened on Tuesday in Michigan. First, Democratic turnout exploded. Second, Biden performed far better with key demographic groups than Clinton did four years ago. If either one of those things happen in November, Trump will have a difficult time winning the state again. If both things happen, the president can kiss Michigan’s 16 electoral votes goodbye—and with them, more than likely, the electoral votes of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Some yes because they see Biden as status quo

Which is exactly what that twitter thread gets at: Some people can afford to not vote for Biden (because their own primary candidate lost) and it won't affect their lives so much. The status quo is fine for them and just because they see no apparent different between Trump and Biden, another 4 years of Trump will affect other people's lives in much worse ways than 4 years of Biden.

The way Trump is handling coronavirus may have some rethinking that assumption.
