You don't really need a tube network in Hull though do you? It would perhaps be more useful to compare bus expenditure or something where there is at least a degree of like with like.

That attitude is self-reinforcing though, isn't it ? Anyone would think you had a bias w/ re London.

Doesn't tell the whole story though does it? How much of that is consumed by the tube network and projects like Crossrail?

Actually Bruce I think it says quite a lot. More money is spent in London than the rest combined. And while I don't need a tube station in my Leicestershire village, a bus running more than twice a week wouldn't go amiss. I don't believe that people from London have any idea what the rest of us put up with.........
