Don't want to rehash old battles and all that, but Labour is a socialist party at it's core. It's not just flirting with the idea.

Not in my eyes, it isn't. It has its roots in the socialist movement and traditionally represented the working class, but all parties have to evolve and Labour officially rejected outright socialism when it dropped Clause 4, which was key in making them electable. I'm sure most Labour voters who believe in redistribution and social justice don't believe in the principle of state ownership and would not be happy if the government took possesion of their house/car/TV which is the true definition of socialism.

Non-Conservatives should forget their traditional political allegiances and all pull together for one mutual party. I know it's easier said than done.

I'd be tempted to suggest the Lib Dems. At least during the coalition days, they reigned them in a bit... we soon saw how brutal the Tories are when they gained their majority.

....all pie in the sky stuff, I know.

That already happens. Tactical voting and so on.

The issue is that there are now non-Conservatives who will vote Conservative, because they are perceived as the only competent and viable vote available.

A party that has a social conscience and formulates it's policies with fairness and the desire to reduce poverty and improve living standards at it's core, doesn't equate to it necessarily having to mirror the traditional idea of a Socialist party though.
Yes but it has to be costed out - he cannot just have a money tree - his sentiments are from the heart I agree with socialist principles, but a slip,on the daily politics look out for tax rise on earners of just £75,000 sound a lot not if you live in the rich south - Labour really need to get a clean simple act together!

I agree to a point.

He needs to smash the myth that the Tories are the party to look after the economy though, as discussed the other day they've borrowed more since 2010 than Labour managed in 13 years, and it's gone where exactly? The taxation comment was poorly timed, poorly thought out and badly advised. Or in other words - Corbyns administration in a nutshell.

Joey, 500 billion was 'created' to give to the banks and this didn't destroy the economy, not yet anyway. The investment bank Corbyn is proposing could be used to open factories to make things.

Errr ... here's a possible alternative & well deserving of your vote:

In keeping with the Labour Party’s latest bid to get one or two pensioners to vote for them they have brought out a new policy guaranteeing the Triple lock on pensions until 2025 if they get voted in..

The Loony party of course will go one better and buy a padlock

BTW, who created the poll?

I DEMAND additions ... ergo:

Official Monster Raving Loony Party
Let's Have a Party Party
Miss Whiplash's Correction Party
Plaid Cymru

our debt is only 1 trillion so lets add another 500 billion its a glorified job creation scheme nothing more nothing less how will they pay that off?

But it will provide the necessary capital to open factories to make all those things that the UK won't be importing from the EU when the UK leaves. The 'opportunities' that May, Davis, Johnson have been banging on about.

It's kind of funny that Labour's 1983 manifesto was considered a "suicide note" because it contained idiotic policies like leaving the EEC and adopting a protectionist stance should our neighbours not give us our own way.

I wonder whose manifesto will contain such lunacy this time?

As I replied when you mentioned this earlier though, I don't think that's an appropriate way of looking at it. I linked you to a graph showing the debt of each G7 nation since 2008, and the trends are remarkably similar. The only country that has really stood out are Germany, and the others consist of governments from right across the political spectrum.
