Thing is with getting them all early, we kind of play them all bunched together again half way through the season. We play United, Chelsea, Spurs as well as two away matches in a 5 game sequence.

If we get results from those first 5 games it could set up our season nicely. Interesting that Chelsea is the last game before the transfer window closes... Rom's return?

If we come out of the first five with 9 or more points we're set up for the rest of the season brilliantly.

Also worth nothing that due to europa we are starting earlier than most and should be fitter and sharper, and what better time to play the big boys at their places than when they're still a bit rusty.

Theres not to many times i can remember if any that we were at home on new years day,and what a game to be at home with

Would literally rather throw away our usual early season points playing top 4 away than to some no mark newly promoted team who play out their skin first week or 2 then hit relegation form once they've given us a bloody nose.

Good point, and conversely our last five games - when we'll probably be a bit leggy - are "easy" games. So if we're in contention then we'd have a good chance.
