Ratings so far….

Halfway through the mainly piss poor season. Rate your players out of 10 and hopefully they will have improved by the end of the season.

Howard – 8
Bit of a shaky start with long rangers flying past him. Other than that, has kept us in games with some great saves.

Hibbert – 6
Defending…cant really fault him. But going forward he’s poor hitting cross after cross to the backside of many a defender.

Distin – 6
Started solid and fits in well. Then went a bit clumsy, made mistakes, and doesn’t look good with Yobo

Yobo – 6
You get what you get with him. Solid, rock hard defender prone to hoofing, panics, and lapses in concentration.

Baines – 7
While his crossing and set pieces have been woeful, he’s still one of the best left backs in the country and not scared to attack.

Heitinga – 8
New lad, didn’t take long to settle. Can play DM, CM and right back with ease. Powerhouse but has great technique and long range passing ability.

Neil – 7
New lad…Solid and comfy on the ball. Can pick out a pass but has been great and taking the ball out of defence.

Coleman – 7
Despite only a few cameos he’s set up 3 goals and looks like something we’ve missed as a right back….pace and attacking skill. Jury is out though whether he can do it in a full prem game.

Pienaar – 9
Player of the season so far for me. Miss him when he’s out, drives the team, only spark of creativity.

Neville – 7
Solid but injured for a large chunk. Need a leader on the field when he’s
gone.

Fellaini – 8
Has progressed leaps and bounds. Still has lapses in concentration when tracking players and is prone to his trademark silly tackle, but has been great so far.

Osman – 6
Stuck out on the right wing he’s a waste. Put in the middle, well worth his services and missed when not playing. Injured but coming back.

Bily – 6
Very hit and miss. After a promising start and 3 goals, he goes missing, doesn’t seem like a winger but has the skills to be a great player for us when it’s known where to play him.

Cahill – 6
Very poor season by his standards. Been played out of position for a large chunk, but when put into his preferred position he’s missed plenty of goal scoring chances and his all round game seems lacking.

Gosling – 6
Started where he left off from last season. Solid hard working with a knack of being in the right place in the box and a surprising attacking threat on the wings. Very lightweight though but never gives up.

Rodwell – 8
18 years old but playing as though he’s an experienced professional. Lacks certain attributes to make him an all round great player, but certainly has international pedigree.

Saha – 9
Sensational season.

Yakubu – 5
Back from injury and hasn’t really hit full stride but looked good against Burnley. Hoping he comes back from the ACN back to his best.

Jo – 5
Did well in games, did awful in games. Not really cut out for the prem but has talent.

Howard 8 (has done his best with the back four changing all the time)

Hibbert 2 ( lived up to his standards, that says it all really but his reliable defending has gone down aswell)

Heitinga-7 (good passer, can play in midfield and looks solid at CB of late)

Yobo-5 (very poor season, unbelievable cos i expected him to step up his game after jags' injury and lescott's departure)

Distin-6 ( Okay defender,could have gotten someone better but he'll do a job )

Neill-6.5 ( Okay season)

Baines- 7.5 ( getting better every game)

Coleman-7 ( 4 appearances,zero in the first...hero in the others, future Rb )

Rodders-8 ( is he really 18?)

Fellaini-7.5 ( has picked up form of late but was shaky at the start of the season)

Neville-6.5 ( doing okay,leading well though)

Pienaar-9 ( player of the season so far)

Billy-7 ( impressive start but has lost his way of late)

Gosling-6 ( another one in the dissapointment club )

Osman-6 ( hasn't got much to offer, tried his best though)

Saha- 9 ( SAF wishes he didn't sell him...tu est fantastique louis, Il faut marquer plus de buts)

Yakubu-5 ( never got going,ever)

Jo-6.5 ( 18 million,i wouldn't pay 8 million now..has been a dissapointment after a good first impression)

Vaughan- 6.9 ( Good comeback, but too soon to give all the creadits)

Too many players have disappointed in the 1st half of the season, but things have been looking better in the last 4-6 weeks, we need to carry that through the coming months. Saha player of the season, Howard Heitinga and Pienaar all looking top quality. Several other players are capable of more but they need to improve, or become more consistent.

Howard – 7
Bad start to the seasons but his form has picked up with some really good games in the last 8. Needs to stay on his line when teams are are in the final third. His communication has come on leaps and bounds this season.

Hibbert – 8
The eternal scape goat and unfairly so, a full back should do exactly what it says on the tin and he is really good full back. Unliked becauase he cant beat five players going forward - but his defending is superb and hes not as bad as people think going forward. Has played at centre half very well when needed this season and has been a great leader for us on the pitch in the absence of Neville. May come under threat from Coleman - but i would wager - Hibbert may see of the challenge for this season anyway. Very underatted.

Distin – 6
Looks strong and steady without being sublime, has been the victim of inconsistent partners which havnt helped him settle. His performences have dipped since Nov, yet there are good reasons and context. None of our defence should take any plaudits for their record this seaosn.

Yobo – 6
Like Distin his preformences dipped since Nov onward. In good form hes very consistent, in poor form he makes some awfull lapses of concentration, another unappreciated player with massive expierence.

Baines – 8
I had worried about injuires after his first couple of years with us. But he is probably one of our most consistent and effective players, a terrific outlet for the team and an extreamly intellegent footballer. In terms of crossing etc - hes a full back like!

Heitinga – 7
Jack of all trades and at them moment a master on none. This lad has the uniuqe blend of strength, determination, power and quality. His distribution is excellent - i think he could next season turn out to be one of our most important players. What hasnt helped has been his versatility and of course adjusting and building partnerships in a decimated squad - good consistent showing of late and excellent quater back play.

Neil – 7
Strong, steady and reliable a good squad man and i would imagine he is decent to have in the squad, he puts in a shift and you can rarely fault him. I do wonder though has his impact justifed his wages.

Coleman – 6
Very exciting on two fronts for me with him being Irish. If your looking objectively at Seamie he has drive, desire, daring and quality going forward and his impact cant be dienied. On the opposite side he has much to learn on the art of defending which of course has to be the primary concern. I think when he plays the centre halfs (ironicly mostly Hibbert) have had to come acorss more often to cover for him - he will learn in time to choose his runs better in time - but hes not there yet , he wouldnt be in my starting 11 (yet).

Pienaar – 9
What a player he has been seen Arteta has been injured. He really has showen charicter and stepped up to the plate. Probably our most influential player offesively and offers much of the vairence we have in our play. An indication of his imapct is that our results have picked up dramaticly since his return from injury

Neville – 6
Hard to judge as he has been out injured, yet in the early games he played at the start of the season i thought he was poor. We have missed him as a leader and a presence on the pitch, he will always be a fullback playing in midfeild for me. Id have him at full back. Will be intresting to see wheather we keep more clean sheets with him back in the team.

Fellaini – 8.5
Sluggish start to the season - maybe the result of infectons and tooth aches, one of our most influential players and all round best midfeilders, has found more confidence in a deeper midfeild berth and is turning into the box - box midfeilder he was always going to be after a run in there. He has improved his discpline, decsion making, positional awarness and how to impact on games for probably about 80 mins. Proving to be in the Top 20 midfeilders in PL, he has the quality to go right to the top - any student of the game can see it - he is still only 70% of the palyer he is going to be.

Osman – 6
Hard to judge due to injury - the word i associate most with Ossie then anyone else is "almost". When he plays he offers a varience to our play and a great outlet he makes up yards for the team and is an extreamly clever player. Very underatted.

Bily – 7
I dont get how people dont rate Billy to be honest, even if he isnt invlolved (yet) as much as he will be, he always creates at least two or three oppurtunites for a goal or scores himself. Like Mofro before him he is suffering from what people expected rather then what Moyes wanted. A great signing who will survive the Billy is crap vibe: as Arteta and Pienaar have before him. You can see his quality a mile of, not forgetting that he has played a lot of football in the last year. He needs to learn how to impact on games over 90 mins in the PL and adjust as well - he is finding it tough at the mo, but still putting in a good enough shift.

Cahill – 7
One thing i have learned over the years is never cirticise Super Tim Cahill he has been played out of position for most of the season, i have no doubt things will begin to flow again fgor him, hes had a lot of chances that have been marginaly just of, i would be worried if he wasnt getting chances. He has done a job for the team this season - cirtiscise and underestimate Super Tim Cahill at your perial.

Gosling – 6
Still developing and has been injured for a lot of the season - without being exceptional you can never cirticise Super Dan Gosiling, to be honest i think he will end up in the centre in they type of role Phil has.

Rodwell – 7
Jack is going to be one hell of player. I think he is going to be as good as Gerrard to be honest. He has much more in his locker to be honest and a lot he needs to improve on. He needs to be out of the team at the moment as his performences were dipping, i expect a quieter second half of the season from him. Even if he doesnt play another game this season he should be proud of his contribution. Playing at about 50 -60% of the player hes going ot be.

Saha – 8
Quality player, dead eye and its hard to argue he should not be in the team not fit. Yak gives more to the team overall for me, but Saha deserves to be no 1 at the mo.

Yakubu – 5
Has had trouble coming back from his injury. I really enjoyed his performence against Burnley a compleate performence from the Yak of old. I think hes touching his best now and ACON will do him no harm, give him a new contract.

Jo – 5
To be fair to Jo, i think hes been the victim of our system, hes not a loan man upfront, if anything he plays better on the flanks or channels then up front by himself or just of a front man. His performmences up front by himself havnt warented a plac ein the team ahead of anyone.

The rest have been average.

You're having a laugh. Howard has saved us loads of points. If it wasn't for him we really would be in deep s**t.

You post yours, and I'll post mine. Is that ok with you m8?
But then you couldn't be arsed posting yours could you, so mind your own business if you don't mind. :)
