13 Reasons Why.. I want Sam as our manager

Has anyone considered this job is his dream job? Money (alledgedly) good players, potential to compete once sorted out?

He won't be here long enough but perhaps he plans on having one last crack of getting somewhere before he does retire.

Good players? Where are they?

What in the holy heck is that reaction about mate?

I personally don't want Sam as our manager - if we appoint him I'll get over that.... but I make a point about 3 players returning that will improve our team enormously in terms of effort and application (wouldn't have thought this about McCarthy weeks ago but seeing the absolute lack of fight from Morgan he needs time out of the team) and you throw a hissy fit as a result?

I don't have any expectation that Sam should point to returning players improving us... but yes returning players will improve us - I don't understand how that is such an 'unbelievable' thing to say. And yes, if our form takes an upturn after this - Sam will get the credit, this annoys me but absolutely nowhere did I suggest that is was his responsibility to abdicate himself from any praise he gets - that was just an invention of yours.

Your analogy is also complete nonsense and I've no idea how it applies here - every manager takes over a team that has been built by someone else.

Again - I made one point about 3 returning players that will improve us, that is all. I wasn't suggesting that this is a reason not to sign up Sam - just pointing out something that is true that i find irritating.

Whilst you would like to think or perhaps hope players returning from injury will improve the team a long term lay off is far from easy to overcome and it’s highley likely one two indeed even all three won’t ever regain the form they had prior to their time out.

Ah of course, but I'm not talking about form... I honestly do mean the application I would expect from those 3 players - they work hard. In our last 5/6 games almost every player on the pitch has been second to the ball in every 50-50.... this is not something I would expect with Coleman or McCarthy (ever) and from what I've watched of Bolasie he seems to be of the same ilk.

Also, I'd be willing to bet a large amount of money that Seamie's injury will not cause him to shy out of challenges etc.. (before anyone says it)

Said it before if he gives us the best chance of staying in the premiership then I would hold my nose.

I would want him around long term though as I would end up topping myself watch his football.

Most of the problems in that sense are down to confidence. Far too many players are scared to make a mistake so they become almost scared of putting their foot in or pushing forward .
As for SC shying out of a challenge you may be right but even though it make be in his sub conscious until he greats truly clattered the injury will be in his mind

1. Doesn't play longball all the time as people suggest. Played with width at Palace with zaha and puncheon, through balls for defoe at sunderland, varied at Bolton with Davies, Anelka. Can play long ball - which isn't against any rules.
2. Isn't corrupt - yes, greedy, but not corrupt. Never broken (or proven to have) any rules or laws.
3. Players always buy into his tactics
4. Players never reported to have fallen out with him
5. 39% win ratio - at Sunderland, Palace, Newcastle, West Ham is actually very good considering they were all relegation candidates
6. Has always accomplished what he was asked to do. Promote Bolton. Maintain and then improve Bolton. Compete at top end of league with Bolton. Sunderland, Palace - survive. West Ham, promote, maintain, improve.
7. More semis and finals appearances then all PL managers but jose, pep, klopp, Rafael and wenger.
8. Doesn't give a f*** about anyone else
9. We're not getting an elite Jose, Simeone etc. Of the next level of manager, he isn't far off the top of that list.
10. He boils everyones piss. Everyone loves a snide in their team that everyone hates, so why not a manager.
11. Can spot a player
12. Much more modern approach than people realise - he's into his analytics etc like Moyes was, rather than "just facking run"
13. Can f****** defend!
