13 points out of 10 games

Because to me it's looking like him first season was an anomaly, when you judge his premier league career. Also if this season turns out to be a good one I using this very same thesis will look a bit silly, as I by my own standard ill will be forced to incorporate this one with whatever we are up to next season.

Out of interest mate, if our form of the last 18 months continues how long will their be an expectancy on me to include his first season? How long will that, from you personally, continue to be his metaphorical 'get out of jail free card'

Also I hope all posters look at Moyes whole time here, average points total and position. Some are saying style is way more important than substance ie points gained. That doesn't sit with me.

I don't want Moyes back at all but their seems to be a sentiment that when Martinez points total was good (that was the stick to beat him with) now the greatest manager for a generation can't get near his average points total, everyone reverts to our style being the key reason for our existence. I'm sure I read some saying they'd take an entertaining draw over a boring victory .

Wacky.

No "get out of jail free" cards being played here quite the opposite in fact. But by looking at his career with Everton only you're not being prejudiced by any problems or mitigating circumstances he had elsewhere that you are unlikely to know about.

You also can't on the one hand ask people to look at Moyes time with us as a whole and then cherry pick an arbitrary amount of games to hold Martinez account to its ridiculous. This "thesis" of yours has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese.

DD, do you admit the need for an improvement in form in the second half of the season? What factors in your opinion have resulted in us continuing the near identical form which saw us in the bottom half last season?

Good point but TBH beginning to look at a repeat of last season although there have been some good moments.

Imthink the forms been fine but some results have been unfortunate and avoidable. Personnaly I'd put it down to having an ever changing and inexperienced defence with two of our best and most experienced players missing for most of the season.

I would but sadly this has far less influence on league placing. 38 non losses can relegate you. Winning just over half gets you to your magic number.
Allow me:

Losses

2013/14 = 21%
2014/15 = 39%
2015/16 (this far) 19%

...looks like we're better/more in line with season one from this view doesn't it?

Sadly this view has no bearing on league placing. Our loss ratio is down from last season yet we're almost identical in the league table, odd that. The win ratio though is exactly the same. Would be funny but then I remember that you get three points for a win but not always for just not losing.
