Again that's not true. I have been posting on a regular basis all season, and thise proceeding, you have started telling a lot of lies to suit your agenda recently. Shame, stick to the facts. Interesting that yet again you failed to comment on OUR points tally yet couldn't wait to make mention of UTD and Spurs.

lol.

Again is 70 from the past 162 good enough for this squad?

Not expecting an answer.

Oh yeah, the "Industry standard last 162 points measure"

Who on earth calculates progress on a 162 point scale?!!!

You're barking mad mate!

You may as well pick any other random number of actual and possible points to argue your opinion on.

Ludicrous.

Hahaha...you just knew it would happen.

Looking forward to this Christmas.

I reckon a few will go down in flames.

Games coming thick and fast, plenty of booze and not enough rational.

I predict we'll lose both @Saint Domingo and @ianefc for a bit, after only beating Stoke by 1 goal and they'll whip themselves into a frenzy as we move 6th and SD consumes a gallon of Cinzano and starts bitching how it wasn't a game for Garth Barry to play and he knows better than Martinez.

First season win % was plus 50, last season was low 30s, this season is also low 30s. Do you admit that there's a need for improvement in the second half of the season? A continuation of the form of the last 18 months ends us up with our top 10 status in doubt.

United in a CL place *just* 29 points from 48
Spurs in the EL 5th spot *just* 26 points from 48

...Hmmmmmm
But Dave their points are better by virtue of they not being Everton.

It is the biggest difference that I can see between supporters of Liverpool and Everton and it never ceases to amaze me.

Liverpool supporters are convinced they are the best team in the league and can see no reason why they won't win the league, every manager they take on is the one to lead them to the promised land.

Evertonians are the exact opposite, our best young players are overrated and when they come good..well we will sell them anyway.

Any manager we take on is not good enough for the NSNO motto, yet if you look at our history in the last sixty years how often have we lived up to that motto, and of course we are always a couple of defeats of a drop to the Championship.

Can you do a 'loss only' % breakdown for the two and a half seasons?

Were not barca, we don't play in a 2 horse league, were a club who was massive in the 80s, nearly relegated in the 90s and its took this long to recover to a position where we can take points off any team.

Curbing the unrealistic expectations will stop this nonsense. You cant expect a clean sheet when your goalie cannot command his own area, you cant expect continuity when the media does its very best to undermine our season at every available opportunity.

It's a good point. Liverpool are just as unimpressive in the set piece stats, but I don't think that's been either brought up in the media or emphasised as a problem by the cult itself.

Agree with eveything you say, but that shouldn`t stop a team practising defending set pieces.

It was a genuine question Ian.

For simplification and to fit in with popular stats based websites why don't you quote it from his first game in charge of Everton? Thats the point where we are all judging him from, not his days at Wigan because frankly who gives two hoots what he did there? When he's gone, either pushed out or leaves through his own choice, it won't be an indiscriminate amount of games people judge him on when they look at his achievements at Everton, it will be from the whole time he spent here.

That's the fair and logical way, maybe you just can't be fair or logical were Martinez is concerned?
Because to me it's looking like him first season was an anomaly, when you judge his premier league career. Also if this season turns out to be a good one I using this very same thesis will look a bit silly, as I by my own standard ill will be forced to incorporate this one with whatever we are up to next season.

Out of interest mate, if our form of the last 18 months continues how long will their be an expectancy on me to include his first season? How long will that, from you personally, continue to be his metaphorical 'get out of jail free card'

Also I hope all posters look at Moyes whole time here, average points total and position. Some are saying style is way more important than substance ie points gained. That doesn't sit with me.

I don't want Moyes back at all but their seems to be a sentiment that when Martinez points total was good (that was the stick to beat him with) now the greatest manager for a generation can't get near his average points total, everyone reverts to our style being the key reason for our existence. I'm sure I read some saying they'd take an entertaining draw over a boring victory .

Wacky.
