10 things we won't miss about the Moyes era

I won't miss the way he used to do interviews and speak like he wasn't our manager "everton have been great the last few weeks"

lets hope martinez speaks about us by saying we and us. Silly i know but used to bug me!

Him standing like a rabbit caught in headlights when a game changing plan was needed
His abysmal Derby record
His narky post match interviews
His attitude that he was doing us all a favour and he'd put Everton on the map (because we were unknown before he arrived)
Him working all his family onto the Goodison payroll
His stupid waistcoats and brown loafers.

That's the spirit! He made us difficult to beat but you need more than that to get to the very top. We lacked an edge. Pretty much his only gameplan was to have Fellaini drawing defenders but, inspite of his physical presence, he's not the greatest in the air. He tends to nod it from a standing position rather than jumping or attacking the ball. We'd have got so much more out of it if Dunc had worked with Felli on heading and we got Baines to deliver the balls in.

I might get bashed for this, but for me the one thing I won't miss is the negativity by some Evertonians directed at DM.

Those folks can't see the forest through the trees...their expectations of Everton these last six or seven years were built by DM saving this club from likely relegation, getting them to the Champions League (probably far too early)...and later UEFA Cup/Europa League, and continually finishing in the top 8...he built expectations based on his own success for the Club.

This thread is simply trolling for bashing a man who took us from some very dark days to the point where we expected to see more...I'd have hated to see Everton message boards prior to his time...

Shocked at people still thinking pure poachers has a future in the game. If they cannot defend and provides nothing in build-up play they are dead weight for 80 minutes of a game. I would opt for a central midfielder anytime over a poacher unless I'm desperate for goals.

The primary job of the forward, at least in a lone striker system, is to deny the opposition backs time on the ball, so they cannot play their own game and have to resort to long-ball tactics or awkward passes, and thus risk more turnovers. Secondarily, hold up play and involve others into it. If you can score, fine, bonus.

I always say I will take a forward who creates 20 chances, scoring 5, and forced 10 defensive errors more valuable than a 20-goal-a-season poacher.

Most of these points are criminally unfair. What's the betting you're the ones who'll be first on Martinez' back if it goes wrong for him at any point, too?

I would rather have a forward who can bang them in all day then another Marcus Bent
