10 things we won't miss about the Moyes era

And we've done this before?

Moyes is not here anymore. No sense dragging it on ad infinitum. Spend more time talking about Everton here and now and trust me, you'll be far more content.

1. Everybody back for corners.
True.. should of had Coleman up front with Mirallas for a lightning counter... they did however clear the ball a lot of times this season so swings and roundabouts.
2. One up front at home against lowly opposition.
Tried a few times that I can think of this season... got murdered each of them.
3. Failing to punish sides. We've had a couple of 4-0s and a 5-1 but the last real pasting that we dished out in the league was (7-1) against Sunderland in November 2007.
New manager 9-1 defeat to Spurs, 8-0 defeat to Chelsea, i'll take a close 1-0 win any day
4. Continually playing forwards who have been on a barren spell for months.
Anichebe's been barren for years, had a great season this time, should he not of had a chance?
5. Forcing poachers like Yakubu and Jelavic to play more for the team.
Its a team game, its about getting the result, the way they play got us those results more often than not.. Also Jelavic missing sitters is Jelavic's fault.
This sort of thing isn't because he ran the channel, or passed earlier in the move instead of sitting in the box http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4_VaR53skk
6. Telling the world what a good club we are for youth while prospects like Baxter, Wallace, Ruddy, Forshaw and Mustafi leave for first-team football.
Five great examples of world class talent that should of been playing ahead of our first team, good choices.
7. Drawing more games than anyone else in the league.
True, well annoying
8. The same team in the same formation week after week no matter who the opposition and whether they're out of form or unfit.
Not true, distinctly remember this seeing Barkley, Oviedo, Mirallas, Pienaar, Osman, Fellaini, Neville and even Heittinga in midfielder at some points.. we don't play and 8 man midfield and if we did I am confused as to how I also saw both Jelavic and Anichebe this season because that means we couldn't of played any defenders as that is 10 right there. We do change our players, just not every game and when he does people complain he's playing Heiitnga or Neville who should be dropped.
9. Buying players (Heitinga, Bily, Beckford, Naismith) and not knowing how to use them.
I think he does, Billy wasn't good enough, Beckford did fine, Naismith is not great and Heittinga got player of the season recently and turned proper ****e this season.
10. Our season generally not starting until March.
Finally rectified before he left

Other than that I agree entirely, thank fk for Bill and all his money, because without all the world class 20mil+ signings papering over the cracks Moyes makes, we would be screwed and nowhere near a European fight with the financial behemoths.

Kinda hoped this rubbish would end when he left but it seems some still can't not have a pop at Moyes for some reason.

He's gone. Lets move on.

How do you know? What if Martinez does this and far worse? Bit premature, no?

I wasn't anti-Moyes. My post is a reaction to how much he has been talked up by Kenwright recently. He made us competitive but he was a conservative manager. We used fewer players than any other team in the league even though we had internationals like Oviedo, Heitinga, Mucha and Naismith needing game time. McAleny was our U21 top scorer by some distance and couldn't get in the squad even though Jelavic and Anichebe were struggling badly for goals. There are plenty of areas for Martinez to improve upon.

Everybody else has goalscoring forwards and attacking midfielders. Didn't Fellaini and Jelavic score about 4 goals between them this side of Christmas? We needed to mix it up to find a combination that could provide us with goals.

Number one thing I won't miss? These same old arguments about all these same exact points. Time to move on (which I think the Moyes lovers are doing MUCH better than the Moyes doubters).

That's not just a flippant remark (well a little) but genuinely that was a significant positive emotion I had when Moyes left. I remember thinking that at least we can move on from all the same arguments. Hasn't happened yet of course but I'm hoping one day.

Who do I have to kill/blow (or both) to get a goose on that list?

I actually like Canada geese so you might have a chance

Him standing like a rabbit caught in headlights when a game changing plan was needed
His abysmal Derby record
His narky post match interviews
His attitude that he was doing us all a favour and he'd put Everton on the map (because we were unknown before he arrived)
Him working all his family onto the Goodison payroll
His stupid waistcoats and brown loafers.

Don't think we should do this anymore, we have this fleeting moment when a new man (whoever it would have been) should enjoy a honeymoon period with us "ALL" healing factions and driving us forward as one.

Divisions are no good falling out with brother and sister evertonian is counter productive plenty of time to moan if it all goes tits up this is a precious and unique situation that occurs only once - at the beginning of a managers tenure.

A "least said soonest mended" policy regarding Moyes should be adopted, if RM does well the temptation to ridicule the previous regime should be avoided and the same if a disastrous start occurs.

"a house divided against itself cannot stand" (Abe Lincoln)

Just leave it lads we have to move on.

This with cheese.

I´m happy and exited we got a new man in and albeit I wasn´t a fan of Moyes´s in the end trying to ridicule him like this only makes us look like kopites.

In a year's time, there's a decent chance we'll all have lists as long as our arms of things we miss about him that we currently take for granted, what with him being here over a decade.
