plenty, I'm sure its the same at lots of other clubs though.

louis saha played for plenty, you still see him hanging around in our away end from time to time. then there's cahill of course. i'm sure it is the same, but nowhere near as touchyfull as we are.

I already know I'm going to get a lot of grief for this but does anyone else cringe when they hear this ? I know Alan Ball said it and he's a legend and all that but 30+ years on and without the context it just sounds like the kind of cringey soundbite id expect a kopite to come out with.

I said the quote to my mate once who doesn't support anyone and his first response was "sounds a bit paedo to me". It was hard to disagree with him.

Let the negging commence.

I do a little bit, but the mystique of Everton alludes to exactly that.

Look at the history, the players & the atmosphere at the ground.

Nothing is like it.

It was a different time. He was a proper real World Class player. He was an out and out winner and he loved our club and our club and it's supporters loved him. I have no problem with whatever Bally said, it was his words and he won the right to state what he thought. No one else should even repeat them, because it was what HE believed. If it's not what you believe then just let it go..........

just replace the word "everton" with "liverpool" and tell me you wouldn't cringe if a kopite came up to you and said that.

Nah mate. The difference is we haven't got a phrase like that for every other day of the week like lot have.

It was said once, 30 years ago, by a legend. Still applies today.

I know every set of fans would say this, but there is def something special about this club of ours.
