“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

I’m sure Moshiri is glad we’re not going down. As we all should be considering our start to the season.

Thing is i fully understand why we got Sam, we were a mess before he came, this is why we ended up with him. He didnt make this mess it was allready there. We needed to go for a manger to keep us away from that drop zone, and as hard as it is too accept this is what he does. However looking at it now I dont think we would of been doing any worse if we had stayed with Rhino, because we have stayed where we are because none of the teams behind us have the ability to go on a decent run.

Disagree there, until the season is over how could they have been proven right? There are a number of aspects to it.

Should he have been appointed at all?
Should he have been appointed for this season only?
Should he stay on after this season is over?

If he got us a top 10 finish, or even better, a top 7 or 8 finish, I don't know how they have been proved right?

Some forget/like to play down how bad we were when he took over to suit their argument.

Oh i do give him credit for improving us, and getting us up the table. But things kind of fell apart after the Liverpool defeat. At the end of the day, i don't think Allardyce has done enough, to suggest that he is suitable to be Everton manager long term. The mans footballing outlook and philosophy, is just too negative.

If you really want to look at performance it needs to be recognised that the top 6 teams are a long way ahead of the rest of the league and we played them all at the start.

Koeman vs top 6 0.2 points per game
Koeman vs rest 1.8 points per game

Full season = 47.9 points

Allardyce vs top 6 0.4 points per game
Allardyce vs rest 1.9 points per game

Full season = 53.9 points

Did he save us from relegation? No
Did he make us better? Slightly
Have either of them done well considering how much we cash we have thrown at this? Don’t think so

Surely an 'appalling' appointment would have us still fighting it out around the relegation places

I'd really like to know what you think would be classed as appallling. Because this fella has, in 14 games, only dragged us a further 2 points away from 18th than we were at the time of his appointment.

He's also managed to spend £50m on players in that time and is also erning more money himself than Simeone and Zidane.

Anybody who defends that needs to have a day off.

It’s amazing how he’s deceived people into thinking he’s some sort of “saviour”, saved us from what? We’re still crap, almost every match going fan thinks we’re dire and he just talks us down and blames the players for his own deficiencies.

A god awful appointment.

He's the master of deflection though isn't he? The fact that people willingly ignore the reasons Geordies and Hammers detest him is like some kind of bizarre Stockholm Syndrome.

Maybe we interpret the word differently but i'd say in order to be classed as appalling he'd at least have to have taken us backwards, which he hasn't.

He's put us further away from relegation (his primary aim this season), and got us within 3 points of 7th which was where we finished last season with a 25 goal a season striker in our side. I am dealing in facts here not ifs and buts so please don't come back and say if Burnley had have won more games, or if we lose the next game we will be in x position, because that hasn't happened so it's all just hypothetical situations to use against him which is unfair.

Appalling was Ronald Koeman's effort this season and his neglect in signing players in key areas. Allardyce and Walsh not identifying a single left back in January was appalling so I will concede on that.

Very true. I remember in his last season at the Hammers, the media decided he was playing a different style of football to his usual abomination and started questioning why Hammers fans still wanted him out. He’s just the master at twisting things to get himself the payoff.

Also very funny how he takes absolutely zero flack for the reason he left the England job isn’t it? Anyone else would’ve been crucified.

Each entitled to their own opinion but I reckon all you've posted there is apologetic drivel.

Some gold from the vaults here

Where is @tirion these days btw?
Changed your opinion of BFS yet, mate?

I eagerly await the campaigns from each camp to get the other camp tried as witches. Good times.

I’ll support Everton from a distance. Bit like church really, both full of false promises fronted up by a mythical figure who’s followers think can walk on water. You can continue to pay to sit there and clap at the over paid players, manager and executives. ;)

I am hoping that we can see the formation of two rival camps such as we saw in the depths of Martinez’s second season. There has been far too much unanimity on the forum. Allardyce may be perfect for this.

why do they need to tell everyone on the internet, in short no one is arsed and with a bit of luck most of the ones who decide to "watch from afar" are the gobshites who take great delight in booing our local players.

Lol if he comes in and we start playing with some pride and winning games again no one will give a crap he got filmed giving his ‘mate’ some dodgy advice. He’s a good football manager at the end of the day and he’s nowhere near as dodgy as Redknapp or unlikeable as Pardew.

I will support the team every game but I will want him sacked every minute of every day until he eventually goes, regardless of results. A man who threw away the biggest job in his life for a quick few quid on a bung should be nowhere near our club. He's a horrible, corrupt beaut and I'm sick to my stomach at this. I will never support him.

Bin him before the second season, then nuke him from space. It's the only way to be sure.

if people choose not to go just stop, Big Sam may well be our manager starting tomorrow morning if you don't feel you can continue to support the blues because of him fine, just stop you wont be missed.

largely by people who don't like you to have a differing opinion, my first EFC game was 1973 my next one will be Wednesday night, why don't you start a jibbers index for all the people who have decided they wont be attending matches any more because we haven't hired some swarthy Portuguese manager who has had less than one full season in English football and managed to get a team relegated.

When you’re creating threads like this by yourself then its a very proud moment, my mission is now complete. Thanks GOT. It’s been ace, truly has, time for me to wave goodbye. Up the toffs.

And you've admitted he's improved our position yet still labelled him appalling. Struggling to see how an improvement can be put in the appalling bracket.

Take Pardew at West Brom for example. He came in at pretty much the same point as Big Sam with West Brom in 17th, 2 points above 18th, 3 points behind us. Pardew's West Brom are now rock bottom, 7 points adrift, and 14 behind us. That to me is appalling.

West Brom were 8th for a lot of last season, and finished in the top half (10th). So the fact they are going down in such a manner after being in that position is surprising.
