“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

Boot him out, the fraud

We don’t want no stinking managers like that round these parts :hayee:

Especially when we could have Martin O'Neill

Let’s look at MON’s career, Orly.

As a player he has won both League Title and European Cup medals.

Observed at first hand the methods of one of the best English managers ever and has put them into practice.

As a manager he took Wycombe Wanderers from non league to what is now called League 1 in successive seasons,

He got Leicester promoted from the Championship to the EPL, established then there and won two League Cups in the process.

Went to Scotland and won multiple trophies up there when Rangers were still a force.

He took Celtic to a European final where they were unlucky to lose against Jose’s Porto.

Went to Aston Villa and took then to three top six finishes in a row.

The man has managed in both the CL and the Euro finals.

That, my good man, is a much better CV than Mr. Samuel Allardyce esq. can furnish and no mistake.

I am not championing his case here or saying I want him........just pointing out that if the shortlist boiled down to Sam and MON, the latter sure seems a better prospect in my eyes ;)

I can't imagine any scenario where I would not support Everton. It isn't a choice for me. No matter who is in charge or who is in the squad or how poorly the team are playing or how angry I am at the decisions being made. You go with it, and you suck it up when things are crap and you rejoice during the good times.

You can't be a fan AND refuse to support them. Those things are mutually exclusive.

In my opinion.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, Illy, being a fan or not being a fan would be considered mutually exclusive. Being a fan, but, refusing to support the team you are a fan of are dependent events. Just saying, but I take your point.
Having sam at the helm is a bit naff, though.

Right man for the job to fix the Koeman mess.

Never changed my mind about Koeman though.
Is there anybody think Koeman should have been given more time? Not many.

He's a fraud
How is he a fraud? He's never been made out to be more then he is.
a money grabber,
Aren't they all? Or did every manager we've ever had manage us because they loved the club?! Lol don't make me laugh. They're all out to make what they can and why shouldn't they?
a man that only ever plays hoofball
Well that's just not true is it. We've played some okish stuff in the short time he's been here and other sides have played half way decent stuff at times with him. The only reason people just except that Big Sam 'only' plays long ball is because they bealieve everything sky sport's and the media tells them.
No purpose being at a club like Everton.
His purpose is to make sure we don't get relegated (something that was frighteningly likely had we not got a competent manager in) and stedy the ship.
We're much better than him and we don't deserve to be brought down to his standards (of non relegation).
Snobbish garbage, we've won sweet FA for over twenty years and have been sadly irrelevant to the game for the best part of thirty years! Your living in the past. We aren't "bigger" then anyone and we aren't in a position we're we should be turning down a very knowledgeable coach based on fans who still think it's the mid 80's.

Allardyce is getting all the plaudits on here for the games we're winning, it's going to be interesting if Chelsea turn us over whether he gets any grief.

I forecast though if we get beat "Look at the money Chelsea have spent" "Allardyce has only been here 5 minutes, what do you expect" etc, etc, etc........................................

The way I see it, if he gets the plaudits, then he gets the grief when we get beat.

I think for a bloke that’s unbeaten since his arrival he’s had quite a bit of grief already .

Good man, Orly.

It is good to know you pay attention to ol’ Khal’s posts ;)

Now, you might note that never once during those posts did I state that I would never go the game while Sam was in charge.

That is because I have been going, through thick, thin and even thinner for half a century and I know that proper fans go the game whether they fancy the manager or not.

Just for the sake of consistency though......not to mention your own integrity....you should not just stop at posts which fit into your own blinkered narrative.

Why not carry on quoting......

OK, guys.

I have had my strop al day and have just spent a month fielding against the very idea of Sam coming here.

But he is here now and I for one am drawing a line under the Allardyce Wars until such time as actual results on the pitch call for more comment.

In the meantime I am going back on what I said earlier today and will applaud when he is announced later on.

And warmly too.

He is the new Everton manager......in my world that is like he has been made the Pope in Rome.

He leads my religion now.

I would urge those who do not respect the man to at least revere the position.

Manager of Everton.

It is in all our best interests that he does well......I hope every last person on here agrees with that.

So nowt more to do but keep on keepin’ on ;)

And I am now looking forward to going the game tonight :)

Forza Sam.....

You see Orly, that is what proper fans do.

During the manager hunt we discuss the merits of the candidates, we argue, we rant, we rave and be bore the nuts of each other.

But when the deal is done and the die is cast, we accept the new manager, welcome him, give him a clean slate and wish him well.

We do not behave like petulant little keyboard warriors, chuck our toys out the pram and make fools of ourselves by selectively quoting a fellow in a failed effort to score points.

Especially when the person you try to belittle can remember what he posted almost as well as you can

And he can hang your words right round your neck.

Getting all the plaudits? I must of missed that. Seems to me, most of us are just happy to be winning again and have taken to him more then we a thought we would. I don't think anyone rates Big Sam that highly or thinks he's great. As for getting grief, he's literally had nothing but grief from a very significant number of our fans from before he was even officially confirmed. When/If we lose to Chelsea a lot of us might just shrug it off and except the fact that the side was woeful before Big Sam arrived and it's still woeful now but at least it won't be a humiliation like it would of been even this time last mouth!

So you've whinged about Allardyce massively, backtracked a little, then spent the day slating fans who still hold reservations.

And you've been shown up (again) for the tremendous hypocrite that you are.

Post after post after post. There's even more

https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/next-everton-manager.99329/page-569#post-5906429

If Allardyce is the answer we have been asking the wrong question.

You didn't have the courage to stick by your own convictions, so you've cowardly lambasted those that did. And you also think you have the right to judge a 'proper' fan.

Hung right round your neck...
