I'll admit I'm very not-arsed about his transfer; if it happens great if not, don't care. Only problem is we've been fannying for weeks over this and I hope we haven't left it late to find alternatives.

(Although I would question a football club if they couldn't scout/negotiate multiple targets at one time).

I think we have got completely lead down a rabbit hole by it to be honest.

I suspect this is how the Stones thing happened as well. The right money wasn't bid at the right time. A late increase in costs and an unwillingness to pay from the buyer.

We have wasted time but for me that's still a lesser evil than buying the wrong player for too much.
