I tried to make a similar point on the other thread and had people coming back saying the examples I'd given where potentially world class players (Martial & Sterling-no) and that the teams buying were loaded and that the players they were buying were young etc etc. They were all still over priced.

It is the way it is. If we want him and he wants to come to us then we have to try to negotiate on the price as best we can. Inevitably we and many other teams will get fleeced.

Because I'm pretty sure 27 isn't old unless you're an 11-year old which would explain a lot.

He oversees all footballing matters at the club. He has a team of scouts who report back targets etc who then yes, he presents to the manager, and he and the manager work through the lists and agree on their targets.

This summer, we've gone to get our primary targets in regardless of cost. We will have back ups, but clearly they think whatever Swansea want isn't out of the question for us.

We have a prem 2 winning side at Everton NOW.. In a year or so Hopefully we can dip into that second team and pick in nearly every position for our first.... Wont cost us a bean (look at man u winning decade) . This season however, We need proven premier players in now.
