2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The player doesn't fit into the paradigm of how he understands football which is an American perspective i.e. he thinks every player can be analysed by breaking down their attributes and rating them and them put all the numbers into a calculator and explains the value of the player. Football is much too nuanced for the American mind which only understands the bottom line.
I don't think it has anything do with being American. I love trying to figure out what makes players good or bad, it's just something that entertains my nerdy brain.

On the other hand I think KDH is excellent and absolutely can be analysed like that beyond just 'being good at football'. He's a great passer, extremely energetic, has very good vision and very very good positional sense when attacking. Doesn't get into shooting positions much but has a great shot when he does. Doesn't dribble much but chooses his moments well and it almost always comes off when he tries it.

KDH absolutely should be nowhere near the conversation of being in the 11 over Alcaraz.

Theres a simple reason for this as weve recently been finally allowed to see, KDH is a number 8. He's even come out twice to confirm this and hes putting in motm level performances as an 8.

There shouldnt even be a "pecking order" that has both of their names on it.

KDH is an 8 and Alcaraz is a 10, at a push a right sided 8 in a 3.

Thats fine, you're allowed an opinion. Dewsbury- Hall is a much better player than Alacraz in any position at the moment In my opinion.

So you'd have him as a 10 where hes been ineffective stats wise compared to when Alcaraz has been used there...

...rather than an 8 where hes been motm or 2nd best on the pitch every game.

As you say, you're allowed an opinion.
