KDH is the benchmark signing for us now, or should be. He is the level that takes us the next step forward.

Positionally he’s hard to fit. He lacks consistency in the threat he offers in the final third (I know he has 3 goals, it’s going to drop off because he doesn’t shoot enough, he’s at essentially one shot per 90). As a deeper player he’s a bit of a fine but not actually good at anything type. He can pass some, he can carry the ball some, he can defend some, but he’s not going to be able to hang his hat on any. Sure in the right setup with the right support he’s a player who we can get solid play from. That’s about it.

KDH is such a live wire plays with such energy. I like Alcaraz but he’s behind him in the pecking order.

The player doesn't fit into the paradigm of how he understands football which is an American perspective i.e. he thinks every player can be analysed by breaking down their attributes and rating them and them put all the numbers into a calculator and explains the value of the player. Football is much too nuanced for the American mind which only understands the bottom line.

Two absolutely worldy goals this month. We talk a lot on here of ‘lack of service’, which I’m not disputing is a problem. But the difference between average players and better players is they can absolutely make these chances themselves.

When he came I was convinced he would be our best player in the season and he then had a bit of a poor patch. But he’s really playing like a leader isn’t he ? Proper captain material
