2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Very talented player who is wasted as a 10. I've always seen him as centre mid.
Very good in the tackle, excellent distribution and has an engine on him with pace when needed.
Him and Grealish are on another level technically.
Superb signing. Chelsea fans I know were gutted when he left.
I am sure they will Sleep ok at night with Palmer, Caicedo, Fernandes and Reece James 😉

Im very happy to report my sceptical approach to KDHs transfer was dumb. Hes been good, and his interplay with our more talented players is beautiful to watch. You can see how Grealish is always looking for him when he gets the ball. I liked him and Charly rotating midfield and attacking midfield in the previous game, i hope Moyes sticks with it for longer than Ganas suspention.

Limited player compared to what?

If it's compared to the dross we've had in midfield for the better part of the last decade, I'll take him
Positionally he’s hard to fit. He lacks consistency in the threat he offers in the final third (I know he has 3 goals, it’s going to drop off because he doesn’t shoot enough, he’s at essentially one shot per 90). As a deeper player he’s a bit of a fine but not actually good at anything type. He can pass some, he can carry the ball some, he can defend some, but he’s not going to be able to hang his hat on any. Sure in the right setup with the right support he’s a player who we can get solid play from. That’s about it.

He certainly has a decent shot on him. Hopefully he starts using it a bit more

I agree with your assessment of him tbf, but I think it's unappreciated to have a midfielder that just does a lot of things well rather than being outstanding at one or two particular things but maybe have a few notable weaknesses. He's also just a standard setter.

It's why Moyes and Martinez would always pick Osman.

It's a very American way to look at a footballer in terms of trying to break down attributes. Some players are just good at football. KDH is one of them.
