Barry Vs Beto

Who would you rather start?

I feel for Beto. Last season he had 30 PL appearances. Totaling 1528 minutes. That works out at 50.9 minutes per game. Essentially 15 full games and he scored 8. With poor service.

Surely with a run of games he finds confidence and starts scoring? My concern is Moyes. Starting Beto one game and hauling him off and then starting Barry and hauling him off, helps neither. They need a run of games.

Both have stunk the place out tho.

We need 1 of them to stake a claim and neither is doing it.

It's also 5 games into the season and neither have had a run.

Beto played 90mins in the stinker against Leeds. Then 26m against Brighton. Then 76m against Wolves and scored. Given a start again against Villa and did 75m. Then half a game against Liverpool.

Barry got 4 minutes against Leeds. 64m against Brighton. 14m and 15m against Wolves and Villa and half a game against Liverpool.

Be honest, is that really fair to judge either and decide their future? Or, as always, do Evertonians just love to write off our players, refuse to back them and just ooze negativity.

Barry has played 142 PL minutes and everyone has decided he's awful and get rid.

I dont think we should get rid, I just think 1 of them needs to grab the chances when they come and stake a place, thats all.

Your "complaint" was Moyes is switching them out, I simply said its cos they have been pony.

We are stuck with both of them for this season, so they need to step up.

Beto having started 4 out of 5 league games and playing half an hour in the other very much is him having a run though isn't it? Players get subbed, especially in the modern game. Haaland's been subbed off 3 times in 6 league games, Ekitike hasn't played 90 minutes yet, have they not had a run either?

We've better regarding attacking effectiveness but we still need to refine our play around the box as it has been static and I don't think we've tried to fully incorporate the striker as the focal point this season.

Moyes needs to give one of them an extended run to try and find form, swapping them round every game can't be good psychology. Both will be pissed off and that gets us nowhere.

I would probably start Barry myself. This seems the perfect match to bed him in, put the strength of the first team behind him against a weak team that gives up goals. Beto is a good late sub anyway with how he bullies the defenders, and his pace to get behind tired legs.

I agree T. Moyes needs to back a horse and stick with them as a starter. For me neither are good enough and honestly I'd be tempted to play N'dayie there. However if I have to pick one it would be Barry

That's why the cup game against Wolves was frustrating.
Barry needs to be given a chance with Grealish, NDiaye and KDH creating.
