Fantastic mate, only he's a defensive midfielder who cannot defend, he certainly why this season, last season and the one before West ham have leaked goals left right and centre and are so easy to play on the counter vs.

But if we are measuring a player based on goals scored it's fine, when Jarrod gets back bench him for Keano, Drop Grealish for Dwight, both over the last few years have scored way more.

It's as stupid an analytic as United signing that clown keeper they have cos he was good with his feet.

Moyes knows what Soucek does and does not offer better than any of us. If we bring him in (and I did flag 3 hours ago I expected Moyes to try) we should see him for what he is, a squad player who offers height at set pieces and attributes that are useful if we are chasing a goal or defending a lead. He is not the dynamic, athletic 6 we need and he is not going to improve team pace but in certain situations he would be potentially very valuable. If it is not big £ in fee or wages it makes some sort of sense.

I have ++ to be honest, you could pull up a graph on Illy with some bad stats but it doesnt mean hes not influential.

Soucek is a clutch player for WHU, ill be surprised if i get him.

He will totally divide opinion here - in exactly the same way Doucoure did. In fact i think its like for like if im honest.

Soucek I watched the Sunderland and Chelsea games, v Sunderland he came on when they were 1-0 down and on both Sunderland's next ones first he's standing watching edge of box, third on the counter he's jogging back not even trying.

….don’t worry, he won’t be going to the Northern Prem, Joey. The lad played for Derby County last season and didn’t get ‘kicked to bits’.

I have no strong views about him going on loan or not, it might be case of Iroegbunam or Armstrong. I’d say Armstrong has the greater potential.

Except he didn't. They both scored 5 for Everton and Harrison did it in 50 less games. They're both rubbish, however.

He scored 6 - 86 appearances some in midfield - 18 as a substitute - so yes about the same - Kilbane was a better player IMO

so you're saying he's the reason west ham have let in so many goals the last couple of seasons. This is clear as day, but Moyes is the only person who can't see it?

I dont know that id describe him as a defensive midfielder myself mate.

How does he compare to Doucoure - im sure he didn't make many interceptions, tackles - but was still effective in a defensive role- i see him in the same squad role. I see him as cover/competition for Garner and Idrissa and ability to play the Hybrid role dropping back to make a midfield 3.

You leave out some important stats to - 9 goals - this team scored the fewest of any team not relegated last season - goals need to be added to this team - before stressing about interception metrics.

Its adds to options and improves the squad.

That's ridiculous though, those 9 goals come at the cost of other things though, such as being turn apart on the counter as they had a huge Soucek shaped hole at DM when he's caught ball side.

Why is there absolutely zero other interest in him besides from his former manager, given west ham are having a fire sale?

Surely 9 goals from midfield should have him in huge demand?
