2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Decent squad player at 12m. Not seeing anything to suggest he’s better than that.

If he applied himself more and worked harder he’d instantly go up a notch or two. Currently when he’s on we’re carrying a player off the ball but without the luxury on the ball a player like that usually brings us.

He’s sharp and bright but nothing special, certainly not for his off the ball ‘effort’.

No mate, he's shaping up to be the next boo boy.

We don't give young players a chance, we can't wait to hound them out of the club.

I really like him, £12m is bargain in today's market.

But looking at this thread, there's already people who'll be gutted if he does well.

There's fans who hate our own players more than they love Everton. This place is the worst for it.

Mate what's new. Don't forget we have a history of some fans being against players because they like other players. Alex Young/Joe Royle at Blackpool. Howie Kendall disliked because he replaced the darling of the crowd Jimmy Gabriel. Pick any of the kopites we've signed over the years and some have been against them including Kevin Sheedy and Alan Harper. As with anything in football winning games and trophies will banish most, but maybe not all hot air moaning and booing. The question about Alcaraz is can we improve him so he gets in the Argentinian world cup squad.

Nothing to hate about Charly. Good young player that can turn with the ball and sprint at a defence causing havoc then zipping an accurate pass. Has weighed in with a couple of goals and has a positive mentality. Competition has rightly so got stronger so he has to work as hard as everyone but 12m is an absolute bargain. Why has he gone from hero to zero. Good player he is

He would get a game more if he didn't stroll about like he is smoking a cuban all the time. We have had too makeshift things recently in regards to the team (injuries, lack of signings) but even now with Dibling giving us more balance, he is never going to be more than a bench player, whether thats here or anywhere else imo. He has been to Italy once before and it didn't work and he was back in South America before long because nobody else wanted him. For me this is Evertonians doing that Evertonian thing of massively overrating a player, we are the worst for it by a mile.
I’m not massively overrating him. He’s just better than the guy we signed to play instead at impacting a game in the final third.

Possibly, yeah he could well be thinking that but.. This is the first time in years we have a squad able to be rotated. We now have options, Alcaraz will get game time but it's upto him to train hard, force his way back in to Moyes thinking, I think that will apply to every player we have currently. Every other good side have these problems, it was about time we have too.
If he doesnt like it, well.... 🤧
Rotate for what? We play once a week for 75% of the year.

I was banging the drum for him to be starting every week last season. Good player and if he now can't get in the starting lineup because of the business we've done that can only be a good thing imo.

He's not a player that's a steady guaranteed 7/10 every week. Can go missing at times and look a bit frustrated when he's not involved enough in the game.

Has quality to turn the tide of a game if he's playing well though, which makes him an excellent squad option. We actually have the capability to try and change a game with subs now, can't remember the last time I could say that.

Fans love a moan about players and I've never figured out that logic as we're meant to be supporters not detractors especially with players who have time on their side to get better

all I’m going to say is that someone is starting to sound like a weird antithesis opinion davek multi right now in this thread, and he needs to be aware of this, agree to disagree and let it go.
